Monday mornings for our team are rarely predictable. When Faye supports Ellie during her weekly visit to Lainey's Care Farm, the first job is usually to outsmart the local poultry...

The chickens here follow a strict policy of laying their eggs wherever they please, which usually means hiding them deep in the hay. Proving that egg hunts are not just for Easter, Faye and Ellie spring into action as soon as they arrive to safely recover them 🐓

It may not be the most conventional way to start a Monday, but it is certainly rewarding! Once the morning jobs were done, they fed the animals, said hello to the farm scarecrow, and headed home with a sweet treat in hand 🍦

Check out a recent holiday with our sister company, , in Whitstable! 💙

One of the people we support recently enjoyed a coastal holiday during Whitstable's harbour celebrations. They took a walk along the seafront, spotting boats of all shapes and sizes, taking part in a spot of crabbing, and exploring the harbour's accessibility.

Back at the house, activities centred around the garden, where they painted birdhouses in the evening sunlight, before relaxing in a bed dressed in Liverpool best, made up especially for his weekend away!

It was great to see him enjoy his mini getaway, join in with the celebrations, and feel at ease during his stay ⚓️

A brilliantly chaotic weekend trip to Howletts with one of our service users and his team 🐘

While wandering through the park, the group got front-row seats to some unforgettable animal antics, including one elephant casually carrying a tyre through the bars into another paddock!

There were plenty of laughs along the way, especially when Oliver spotted the pigs and immediately decided one had the unmistakable look of a “Linda” 😅 They also watched the painted African dogs being fed before ending the day with a mini Katy Perry concert in the van on the journey home 🎶🐶

Tonight’s eclipse won’t happen again in most of our lifetimes. The next one isn’t until 2090!

Some people had actual solar glasses, some held a colander up against paper and watched dozens of tiny moons appear in the shadow!

Some did the cardboard box with a pinhole, and some people just watched the light change (that was just as impressive) 🌒

A little look at Faye and Ellie's trip to the Kent County Show!

They packed so much into the day, from visiting the horses to grabbing an ice cream in the sunshine. Ellie was especially excited for the carousel and absolutely beamed the whole time 🎠☀️

Last week in Kent was hot… like really hot. It was the sticky, overwhelming kind of heat that makes everything feel 10 times harder 🫠🥵

On Monday, Shayna took Ellie to the farm, though it can be even harder to process emotions and explain how you're feeling when it's that hot. Ellie powered through and showed real resilience, cleaning out the chickens and visiting the sheep (they looked pretty fed up with the weather in their woolly jumpers, too! 🐑)

The best part of a week like that? Finding some shade and an ice-cold drink!🧊
