We offer a 24/7 out-of-hours service for foster carers and local authorities. We are always hiring new foster carers, so get in contact if you are interested in foster care! Aims and objectives:

Our focus is always on the child or young person in our care so we can carefully match the individual needs of the young person with our foster carers. We equip our foster carers so that they can feel ready to take on any challenges in fostering. Foster carers have a voice in our agency so that we can adapt to support them and make sure they get the most out of fostering. Supporting our foster carers means we can provide safe, loving, affirming homes for all the children and young people in our care. We aid our young people in managing trauma, building confidence and developing life skills so they can be secure, happy and self-supporting members of society once they leave care.

Could fostering work for you financially?

When people think about fostering, the first thing that usually comes to mind is the difference they could make to a child’s life.

But there are practical things to consider too and one of the questions we’re often asked is:

“How would we manage financially?”

Fostering is a big commitment. You’re opening up your home, your time and your life to a child who needs stability and support. So it’s important that you have financial support in place too.

With Homefinding & Fostering, foster carers receive allowances to help cover the costs involved in caring for a child.

Allowances start from £483 per week for one child on a standard arrangement and the majority of foster carers salaries are tax free.

The amount you receive can vary depending on the type of placement and the individual needs of the child.

This isn’t about fostering to “make money”. It’s about recognising that caring for a child comes with additional costs and making sure foster carers are supported to provide the best possible care.

And for some people, fostering can make financial sense alongside their existing circumstances whether that’s as a main income, alongside other household income, or as a new chapter once children have grown up.
