WE ARE HIRING!

We are looking to grow our team of DRT drivers.

We are delivering demand responsive transport on behalf of Worcestershire County Council as part of our wider Community Transport project which offers a range of services to residents who have no alternative means of transport.

This transport complements our community minibus routes, volunteer car scheme and wheelchair car provision as well as current public transport services.

All journeys are booked in advance and can be made through a digital app or by phone to a booking line.

So if you have excellent people skills, can work flexibly and have category D1 entitlement on your driving licence - we would love to hear from you!

It's Small Charity Week!

This week we're celebrating the incredible impact that small charities make in their communities every single day.

As a small charity we're proud to make a big difference by providing vital transport services for over 60's in our local community. Our services help people stay connected, access essential appointments and activities, and most importantly, help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.

None of this would be possible without the amazing people who support us. We want to say a huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers, valued partners, generous funders and loyal supporters. Your time, commitment and belief in our work help us to continue to support older people to remain independent and engaged in their community.

Together, we're proving that small charities can make a big impact. Thank you for being part of our journey!

🎵 Music Quiz Update 🎵

Unfortunately, our monthly Music Quiz scheduled for Wednesday 1st July at The Old Royal Library has been cancelled.

We are delighted to share that our wonderful volunteer, Marleen Morgan, has been nominated for the Malvern Hills District Connected Communities Recognition Scheme 2026 by our Volunteering Manager, Sam Palmer.

This nomination recognises and celebrates Marleen's outstanding dedication, commitment, and hard work at Community Action. Through her generosity of time, enthusiasm, and willingness to support others, Marleen has made a real difference to our organisation and the local community.

It was such a proud moment seeing Marleen presented with her award by Malvern Hills District Councillor Beverley Nielsen. who was joined by Trustee Chris Bartlett and some of our other incredible volunteers.

We are extremely grateful for everything Marleen does, including volunteering on reception and assisting passengers on our Out and About trips and are proud to see her efforts acknowledged through this well-deserved nomination.

Please join us in congratulating Marleen on this fantastic achievement and thanking her for the positive impact she continues to make every day.

We really couldn't do what we do without our exceptional volunteers.

🐞🏡 New Homes for Bugs at Holy Trinity Church! 🏡🐞

Eileen Tomlin a volunteer from Malvern Link Rainbows said "The Malvern Link Rainbows recently enjoyed a wonderful afternoon helping to create Bug Hotels for the churchyard at Holy Trinity Church, Malvern.

The beautiful Bug Hotel structures were kindly made by the talented members of Malvern Shed (formerly known as Men's Shed), who meet near the church. The Rainbows then set to work filling them with pine cones, twigs, leaves and other natural materials, creating some very desirable residences for the churchyard's insect residents!

This project forms part of Holy Trinity Church's journey as an Eco Church. As there are no schools within the parish, we have been delighted to work with the Rainbows on a range of environmental activities, including birdwatching, planting native species, and now building homes for bugs.

The Eco Group is keen to involve local community groups, such as Malvern Shed, in caring for and taking an interest in the environment where they meet. It was especially encouraging to hear that several of the Rainbows were inspired to go home and create their own Bug Hotels in their gardens."

A huge thank you to everyone involved for helping make the churchyard a more welcoming place for wildlife! 🌿🐝🦋

What a fantastic morning at Tuesday's Malvern Wells Drop-In at Malvern Wells Village Hall!

We were delighted to welcome 13 guests, including several new faces. A special welcome also goes to Chris Bartlett, one of our Trustees, who joined us for the morning.

The stars of the show, however, were Natalia Kuchmak, Dasha and Victoria from Malvern's Ukrainian community. They treated everyone to delicious homemade cakes, beautiful folk music and a fascinating wreath-making demonstration, which was enjoyed by all.

A huge thank you to the Wells WI for keeping everyone supplied with hot drinks, and to our wonderful Community Action volunteers whose hard work made the event such a success.

The next Drop-In will take place on Tuesday 21st July – everyone is very welcome to come along. We look forward to seeing you there! 😊

Community Action are delighted to be supporting this regular coffee morning.

Are you aged 60 or over and looking to meet new people, enjoy a friendly chat, and relax with a cuppa?

Come along to our welcoming Coffee Morning at Storer Court on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month. It's a great opportunity to socialise, make new friends, and enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere.

This week is Loneliness Awareness Week

Loneliness Awareness Week is dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness by inspiring conversation and communication.

By talking about it, we can reduce the stigma surrounding this natural human emotion.

You do not need to organise a large event to make a difference. Sometimes the smallest actions can have the biggest impact:

🌼Check in with a friend, neighbour, or colleague.
🌸Invite someone for a coffee or a walk.
🌼Attend a local community group or activity.
🌸Volunteer with a local organisation.
🌼Start a conversation with someone new.
🌸Reach out to someone you have not spoken to in a while.

Simple acts of connection can help people feel less isolated and more connected to their community.
