WWCA were delighted to host our second breakfast of our newly launched business club.

We had two round table discussions, discussing ‘How does Government get out of the way of business?’

This was followed by a Q&A with our MP and Shadow Business Minister, Dame Harriett Baldwin.

WWCA called out this waste of money in January 2025, and we have continued to call on the Government to scrap their unitary plans. This isn’t devolution, but rather putting power into fewer hands, and away from local areas.

The Conservative and Independent coalition at MHDC are a shining example of what District Councils can achieve, where they are putting people before politics and leaving a legacy across the Malvern Hills.

MILLIONS of pounds is being put aside to pay for a huge shake-up of councils in Worcestershire.

Last week, WWCA met with the Malvern Hills Trust leadership to voice our issues with the Malvern Hills Bill.

We raised the following issues:

- Threat to democracy and accountability, with the Bill proposing only 6 elected trustees, and a total of 12.

- No change to the levy paying area to better reflect the Trust’s land.

- The mismanagement and miscommunication by the Trust during the Bill process.

- The excessive powers sought under the proposed general powers.

West Worcestershire residents cannot afford Reform. A 9% tax rise, cabinet reshuffles and now a change in leader.

Residents should be receiving better services for paying more, but Reform have hard-working residents paying more for less.

Residents cannot afford Reform and their chaos. Residents deserve better, and Malvern Hills District Council’s Conservative and Independent coalition have delivered a second consecutive council tax freeze and record investment into our communities.

No drama, no chaos, but delivery.

Tenbury, and Alfrick, Leigh and Rushwick residents have the chance to send a message to Farage and Worcestershire’s new leader Alan Amos in the coming weeks. Remember, only your Local Conservative candidates can beat Reform. Don’t let Reform cause the same chaos at Malvern Hills District Council.
