Public Notice - Wells Road/Peachfield Road Junction
Following concerns raised by Malvern Wells Parish Council and County Councillor Malcolm Victory, the Traffic Engineering Team at Worcestershire County Council are taking action to prevent further danger and damage being caused to the infrastructure and private property on the junction of Wells Road/Peachfield Road.
The image attached to this post (drawing no T.2024.1264.3) shows the following two proposed vehicle turning movement bans (with an exemption for vehicles under 7.5 tonnes):
Proposed left turn ban- from A449 Wells Road into Peachfield Road.
Proposed right turn ban- from Peachfield Road into A449 Wells Road.
These proposals were a suggested measure by Malvern Wells Parish Council, and result from significant damage to a Parish Council gas street lighting column and to the boundary wall of an adjacent residential property, caused by turning HGVs.
Worcestershire County Councils intention is to consult with the relevant statutory consultees, which includes Malvern Wells Parish Council, and to then introduce an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order.
This will be monitored for 6 months to determine its effectiveness. During this initial period public comments or objections can be received, prior to an assessment as to whether to make this order permanent.
Malvern Wells Parish Council is pleased that Worcestershire County Council have listened and taken action in relation to its concerns. A response is currently being drafted and will be considered for submission at the next meeting of Malvern Wells Parish Council, to be held on the 29th of July 2026.
If any members of the public wish to raise any comments of support, or otherwise, in relation to this proposal, please do let us know before the 29th of July, or by attending the scheduled meeting.
Alternatively you may submit your own comments directly to the Traffic Engineering Team by email at [email protected] Direct comments should be submitted prior to the 6th August 2026.
