Today, I had the honour and privilege of delivering a speech at the wedding ceremony of Odunayo Ajewole and Adetutu Adewale, where I also served as the Chairman of the Occasion.
I began by congratulating the couple and expressing my sincere joy on witnessing their beautiful union. Having known them as friends for over five years, it was indeed a moment of pride and fulfillment to stand with them on such a significant day. Odunayo, fondly called Mr. Naija, is a bonafide Mushin boy and undoubtedly one of the brightest individuals I am proud to see emerge from our community. His journey has been inspiring, and today marks the beginning of an even greater chapter.
In my address, I advised the couple to identify their unique lane and run their race with focus and purpose. Marriage thrives when partners build and pursue collective goals rather than individual ambitions in isolation. Drawing from my personal experiences, I emphasized the importance of harmony in a relationship, the power of understanding, patience, and mutual respect.
I also encouraged them to avoid distractions and resist the temptation to compare their journey with others. Every home is unique, and comparison often breeds unnecessary pressure. Instead, they must prioritize cooperation over competition, regardless of who appears to be doing better at any given time. Marriage is a partnership, not a rivalry.
I extended my congratulations to both families and prayed that their union be blessed with peace, growth, and a beautiful home filled with love and lasting happiness.
