☀️ What's on in August - local neighbourhood events ☀️

We know that lots of students will be away from Manchester over the summer. But if you're still around there are lots of great events happening locally!

Sunday 2 August head along to Fallowfest 11am-5pm at the Shakespearean Garden in Platt Fields Park. 🎭

Or on Sunday 2 August join the Friends of Old Moat Park for their regular volunteering session. Meet at 2pm in the park (equipment provided). 🌼

Saturday 23 August join loveladybarn for their monthly Ladybarn Litterpick. Meet at 11am at Ladybarn Community Hub. ♻️

Every month we'll be pulling together a collection of some of the events and activities happening in our local neighbourhood. If you've got something to share, please send it across to us.

Saturday 25 July join loveladybarn for their monthly Ladybarn Litterpick. Meet at 11am at Ladybarn Community Hub. ♻️

Then head along to the next pop up market in Withington, 10am-4pm outside the library 🛍

Applications are open now on Career Connect and Career Hub, search 'Student Neighbourhood Ambassador'.

Moving house is a great time to declutter! As the end of your tenancy approaches, why not donate unwanted, good-quality items and unopened food to charity? 🙌

We're working with teams across , , , and to make it easy to donate to charity through the Give It Don’t Bin It campaign!

Last year, Manchester students donated over 100 tonnes to the British Heart Foundation, generating over £204,000 for the charity! 🎉

But we still collected over 229 tonnes of additional waste at the end of student tenancies, so we can definitely do better. 😭

There are donation banks and food collection points in key areas of South Manchester and on campus. Find your nearest donation point on the website: www.giveitdontbinit.co.uk.

Sunday 7 June join the Friends of Old Moat Park for their regular volunteering session. Meet at 2pm in the park (equipment provided). 🌼

Thursday 18 June head to to try out DJing with 🎶

Saturday 20 June go along to The Friends of Ladybarn Park Family Fun Day (they're still looking for volunteers to help too) 🎪

Saturday 27 June join for their monthly Ladybarn Litterpick. Meet at 11am at Ladybarn Community Hub. ♻️

Then head along to the next pop up market in Withington, 10am-4pm Copson Street 🛍

Finally, we'll have Give It Don't Bin It pop-up donation points across neighbourhoods on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 June, so you can donate your unwanted items to charity. ♻️
