The Communist Party of Britain (CPB) is a Marxist-Leninist political party which was founded in 1920 as the Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB) and has played an important role since its inception, both leading and taking part in campaigns and broad movements in support of working class people. Today, it is the CPB which continues to support the work of the Morning Star - the worlds only daily English language socialist newspaper - to stand candidates in elections and to work in broad movements with the explicit intention of uniting the left in the fightback against the cuts. We continue to work with various groups and organisations to advance the causes of the most disadvantaged sections of the country, primarily in the trade union, peace, anti-war and anti-cuts movements.
