This Ukrainian Independence Day, we stand with Ukraine in celebrating its culture, national identity and the resilience of its people.

Greater Manchester is proud to work alongside and support Ukrainian city leaders through the Unbroken Cities Network, which saw us welcome Ukrainian mayors to the city region earlier this year to share resilience and emergency response learning.

On this day, we reaffirm our solidarity with Ukraine and its people.

Today we mark the inaugural National Day for Victims and Survivors of Terrorism.

We remember those whose lives have been lost across the world and here in Greater Manchester, following the Manchester Arena and Manchester synagogue attacks, and recognise the experiences of victims, survivors and bereaved families, and stand in solidarity with everyone affected by terrorism.

Greater Manchester will be represented at a ceremony in London later today by 37 survivors of the Manchester Arena attack and Wigan Council Leader Cllr Nazia Rehman, helping ensure the voices and experiences of those affected are at the heart of this day of remembrance.
