| Shortly after dealing with an incident near Princess Road/Moss Lane East, officers issued a driver with a Traffic Offence Report for driving without due care and attention 🚓

The vehicle passed officers slowly before the driver proceeded to make the car pop and bang, then accelerated away down Princess Road.

The vehicle was also seized.

| This morning, officers from the Neighbourhood Team executed a warrant in the Chorlton Park area following intelligence regarding the sale of controlled drugs to children.

The warrant was positive and a significant quantity of controlled drugs was located and 2 people have been arrested. Inquiries are ongoing.

Roderick Mannion (56) sadly died at his home address at Portland Court, Moorland Road in on Monday 17 August.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

| Following relentless work from our a man was arrested this morning for Stalking with fear of violence and other violent offences.

The arrest follows a range of tactics employed by the team to locate the man who had been wanted for 2 years.

The suspect believed he could target the vulnerable victim throughout this time. Despite him using fake names and other ploys to throw the team off, these proved useless in the end.

Upon his arrest, which was outside of Greater Manchester, officers found several knives. The man was uncompliant and the team obliged with a swift es**rt to the van.

The man remains in custody for questioning.

Steven (45) was last heard from on Monday 6 July 2026.

Steven is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 6, slim built, brown bouncy curly hair and has a Manchester accent.

He has links to South Manchester, Manchester City Centre and Salford.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned about Steven and want to make sure he is safe and well.

City of Manchester South Neighbourhood Team | Mini Policing 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️🚸

Our City of Manchester South neighbourhood team has just completed a brilliant Mini Policing session with pupils from a local primary school, working together to tackle concerns around parking and speeding during school drop‑off and pick‑up times.

Officers delivered a road safety presentation before heading out onto the street with the children to engage with drivers.

The pupils took an active role, wearing police caps and high‑visibility vests, speaking to drivers and offering helpful advice about road safety.

The children also had the opportunity to take part in speed checks using the speed detectors, helping them understand the importance of safe driving around schools.

A great example of working together with our community to keep children safe and encourage responsible driving 🚗✅

| Officers from GMP’s City of Manchester South Neighbourhood team made a significant arrest earlier today (Friday 19 June 2026) following a proactive operation targeting drug-related activity in Chorlton.

As part of Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action, plain clothes officers were on patrol targeted known hotspot areas when they spotted a man on a sur-ron riding dangerously at speed.

The officers quickly detained him before identifying a machete concealed down his trouser leg. The weapon was safely recovered and a subsequent search revealed cash and a concealed package hidden in the suspect’s clothing. A further search conducted in a police vehicle uncovered 79 snap bags containing suspected Class A drugs.
