Our next Legal Clinic takes place on Thursday 16 July at the Zion Community Centre, Hulme, offering affordable access to professional legal advice on:

✔️ Wills
✔️ Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
✔️ Shariah-compliant Wills

Private Client Solicitors generously donate their time and waive their usual professional fees for basic Wills, helping us offer these services at a significantly reduced cost.

In return, we ask for a minimum donation of £90 for an individual or £150 for a couple. Every donation helps Together Dementia Support continue providing vital services for people living with dementia and their families across Manchester.

What a night! 🎉

This Saturday, over 250 unpaid carers and their loved ones, plus staff and volunteers from local organisations, all came together to celebrate the dedication of carers across the city.

Sefton from African and Caribbean Mental Health Services was a brilliant host, The Sheridan staff served up a delicious three-course meal, and Blue Lion Band kept the dancefloor buzzing. We were especially honoured to be joined by the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Shaukat Ali - who presented certificates to carers - and his wife, Lady Mayoress Kausar Parveen.

Special thanks go to our headline sponsors, Gaddum, Manchester City Council, and Alex Timpson Trust, for funding the event. We also thank all the individuals and local organisations who generously donated raffle prizes or helped subsidise costs, including: Cathy Cameron, F.C United of Manchester, Gail’s Prestwich, Graham Kennedy, HR Massage Therapies, Manchester United Foundation, PDC Manchester, Tesco Prestwich, and Village Greens Prestwich.

We really appreciate the help of carers on our Lived Experience Panel and partners from our Network who welcomed guests and ensured the night ran smoothly.

Thanks also to Eddy at Tangerine Event & Corporate Photography for these wonderful photos! We will email all attendees with a link to the full photo file in the next few days.

Finally, and most importantly, a huge thank you to all the carers who managed to attend the night and made it so special! We know that one night of celebration won’t fix the systemic issues that often leave carers overworked and undervalued, but we hope the evening provided a welcome sense of hope and connection.

📣 We’re partnering with Carers Card UK! 📣

After lots of work behind the scenes, we’re excited to announce our new partnership with Carers Card UK. Together, we are providing Manchester carers with a free ID card, which is linked to a discount scheme and online community.

We will be getting in touch with any carers who hold one of our current cards in the coming weeks, to help you transition to this new system. Your current card remains valid until the printed expiry date.

ℹ️ Don't have a carers ID card, but want one?
If you do not currently hold a carers ID card, applications for our new free card will open in late July. Keep an eye on this page, and our newsletter, for updates: www.carersmanchester.org.uk/newsletter

Unpaid carers contribute £184 billion a year to the UK economy (source: Centre for Care), yet many carers feel invisible.

This Carers Week, we’re joining Gaddum to help change this narrative by sharing their campaign That Counts as Caring.
