Our Little Leaders recently visited the Macmillan Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital with Mrs Scott to present a cheque for £500, raised through our Coffee Morning and Cake Sale. Staff and patients were delighted to receive the donation and were incredibly appreciative of the support shown by our school community. They also commented on the excellent manners, confidence and kindness demonstrated by our children throughout the visit. We are extremely proud of our Little Leaders for representing our school so positively and for helping to make a difference to others through their fundraising efforts.

Dear Families, thank you for your kind and generous donations during our Harvest Collection. We are incredibly grateful for the support shown by our school community. We are pleased to share that members of our School Ambassador Team recently visited Fallowfield Food Bank to deliver the donations on behalf of the school.  Your generosity will make a real difference to those in our local community, and we thank you for helping us to live out our school values of kindness, compassion and service to others.

Zakayah has been chosen because of her outstanding enthusiasm for learning, excellent teamwork, and consistent respect for others throughout this half term. She always tries her best, works well with her classmates, and shows kindness and consideration to everyone around her.

Following suggestions from our pupil questionnaire, completed by our Mini Vinnies last term, a beautiful grotto has been created by Mr Hamer at the entrance to our school. Many families have already commented on how welcoming and inspiring it is, providing a warm greeting as they arrive each day. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mr Hamer for his hard work, creativity, and dedication in bringing this wonderful addition to life.

It is a great pleasure to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of St. Kentigern’s RC
Primary School, taking up post in January 2027. I am delighted to be joining this
wonderful school community and look forward to getting to know our children, families
and staff in the months ahead.

St. Kentigern’s has a long-standing reputation for providing a high-quality education
within a nurturing, faith-filled environment. Rooted in our Roman Catholic faith, the
school is a place where every child is valued and encouraged to grow academically,
spiritually and personally. Guided by Gospel values, we foster a culture of inclusion,

This week, we are delighted to present our CARITAS Award to Halle-May. 
So far in year 3, Halle-May has consistently shown great kindness, care and compassion towards others. All of the staff in Year 3 have noticed the positive difference she makes each day. She always ensures that everyone is included, supports her classmates when they need help and is a wonderful friend to those around her. 
Halle-May leads by example through her words and actions, demonstrating the values that we strive to live out in our school community. Her thoughtful and caring nature reflects the Catholic Social Teaching principle of the Dignity of the Human Person, reminding us that every person is valued, respected and loved by God. 
We are incredibly proud of Halle-May and the way she lives out our school mission every day. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Team Bead Hive! Last year, when they were in Year 5, the children took part in the Young Enterprise Fiver Challenge alongside Miss Stafford. Working as a team, they carried out market research, designed and created their products, advertised their business and successfully sold their creations, raising an impressive £264. 
 
As rewarding as this experience was, the children were thrilled to learn that they had achieved: 
 RUNNER-UP FOR BEST OVERALL BUSINESS 
The highest and most prestigious category in the Young Enterprise Fiver Challenge. 
This incredible accomplishment placed Team Bead Hive among the very best young entrepreneurs in the country, competing against 420 schools and 32,000 children nationwide. Their success is a remarkable reflection of their creativity, teamwork, determination and entrepreneurial spirit. 
To celebrate their success, Team Bead Hive, now in Year 6, travelled to London for a prestigious award ceremony at the HSBC Headquarters. Their award was presented by BBC journalist and television presenter Steph McGovern and HSBC Chief Operating Officer Michael Martinkovic. 
This achievement is a true testament to the children’s hard work, creativity, teamwork and determination. They embraced every stage of the challenge with enthusiasm and dedication, and their success reflects the incredible values they demonstrate every day at St Kentigern’s. 
Congratulations to Team Bead Hive. We are immensely proud of you all! Well done Jaden, Amaiya, Nellie-Rose, Max, Mia, Khalisah, Zaiba and Cody.

This week, the children became food researchers as they explored a variety of breads from around the world. They investigated different types of bread, including white bloomer bread and tortilla wraps, and discussed their ingredients, textures, shapes and uses in different cultures. 
The children carefully examined what makes each bread unique and shared their opinions about which features they liked best. This research helped them to generate ideas and begin planning their own bread designs. 
Over the next few weeks, the children will develop and refine their designs before putting their skills into practice and making their very own bread creations at the end of the half term. We are looking forward to seeing the fantastic and creative breads they produce!

The children have produced some beautiful work in Geography this week as they researched and explored a range of countries from around the world. They discovered fascinating facts about different nations, including their famous foods, population sizes, landmarks, cultures and traditions. 
Using a variety of sources, the children developed their research skills and presented their findings in a clear and creative way. They were particularly interested in comparing how people live in different parts of the world and learning about the unique features that make each country special. 
We have been incredibly impressed by the effort, curiosity and presentation skills shown throughout this topic. The children have thoroughly enjoyed becoming young geographers and sharing the many interesting facts they have discovered with their classmates.
