🔥 Shirebrook Community Appreciation Post 🔥
A huge thank you to Councillors Barber, Smith & Stevens, along with leisure centre legends Simon & Caine, for their hard work putting up the 11-a-side goalposts at Shirebrook Leisure Centre ⚽👏
Even better this was all done voluntarily at no cost. Proper community spirit 💪❤️
Let’s all do our part and look after the goals they’re there for everyone to enjoy, so treat them with respect (and maybe keep the Ronaldo celebrations sensible 😅).
Great news too… the council are hoping to install brand new posts within the next 6 months 👀
This is our Shirebrook ❤️
Let’s pull together, keep it clean, and make the most of what we’ve got!

Please Help Us Look After Our Community Facilities
We kindly remind everyone that vandalism not only creates unnecessary repair costs, but also prevents children and young people from enjoying these facilities to the fullest.
Our skate park and leisure areas are here for everyone to use, have fun, and stay active. When they are damaged, it affects the whole community and limits opportunities for safe and enjoyable play.
Let’s all take pride in our shared spaces and look after them—these facilities belong to our community.
Thank you for your support.

HOT WEATHER WARNING

Open water may look inviting but please consider the dangers and do not be tempted to cool off in lakes, reservoirs, rivers or quarries.

If you get into trouble in the water, remember the RNLI’s advice to "Float to Live":

Lean back
Spread your arms and legs
Stay calm and float to regain control
Can’t swim? Float and shout for help.

See someone struggling? Don’t go in – call 999 immediately.

Their advice follows the tragic events of recent days in which a number of people have drowned, particularly young people, trying to cool off during the heatwave.
