Message from Kent Police

🚔 MARDEN DRUG DEALER JAILED 🚔

A Marden drug dealer has been jailed following a Kent Police investigation into reports of suspicious activity at an address in The Cockpit. Neighbourhood Officers gathered evidence before executing a warrant on 1 May 2026, leading to the arrest of the offender.

The defendant pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and was sentenced to three years' imprisonment at Maidstone Crown Court on 4 August 2026.

This result highlights the importance of intelligence received from the community and partners, it plays a vital role in helping to keep our neighbourhoods safe. If you see suspicious activity in your area, then please report it.

There will be two meetings of the Parish Council next Tuesday 25th August both being held in the Parish Office Meeting Room, Marden Memorial Hall, Goudhurst Road:
Extra Ordinary Full Council Meeting at 7.30pm.

Following the EFCM held on the 18th August where Cllrs voted against the Reserved Matters application for Land at Copper Lane / Albion Road the meeting on the 25th will be to finalise the Parish Council's response to MBC.

The EFCM will be followed by the normal Amenities Committee meeting.

Come along to this FREE event at Marden Playing Field tomorrow and Thursday 20th being run by Golding Homes, Charlton Athletic and Marden Parish Council.

Parking is in Marden car park - directional signs will be in place for you to walk to the playing field.

Charlton Athletic will also be attending with their Crime and Reduction engagement bus.

The mini-buses are staffed by qualified youth workers who are DBS checked, and they will book the young people into their sessions.
All parents/carers or children will be asked to complete a short registration form prior to attend sessions.

If a parent/carer hands the forms in to staff themselves, then children will be able to attend, without a parent/carer being in attendance, for the duration of the session. They will be supervised by the qualified youth workers. However, if children are younger than 8 then parents are asked to remain close by
