We thought it was about time we properly introduced the person behind East Kent Fire Risk.
And when we say the person behind it, we mean it!
East Kent Fire Risk is a small, independent business run by Carl Davies.
When you call, message or email us, you’re not contacting a call centre or a large national company. You’re dealing directly with Carl — the same person who will discuss your requirements, attend your premises and carry out the work.
And behind that small local business is a considerable amount of experience.
🚒 24 YEARS IN THE FIRE SERVICE
Carl spent 24 years working within Local Authority and Aviation Fire & Rescue Services, progressing to the role of Watch Manager.
His career gave him extensive practical experience in fire safety, prevention, risk management and, importantly, an understanding of fire that comes from having spent more than two decades working within the Fire Service.
🔥 OVER 20 YEARS IN FIRE SAFETY
Alongside his Fire Service career, Carl established and ran Kent Safety Training for around 20 years, providing fire-safety training alongside services including fire risk assessments, fire doors and fire extinguishers.
As his business has evolved, Carl has now moved away from the training side to concentrate on the areas in which he wants East Kent Fire Risk to specialise:

Carl is NEBOSH qualified and is currently working towards his ABBE Level 3 Fire Risk Assessor qualification, as part of continuing to develop and demonstrate his competence in line with the new BS 8674:2025 framework for fire risk assessors.
After more than two decades in the industry, Carl still believes that professional development matters — because fire safety never stands still.
