This is a reminder that we work on information provided to us to tackle those issues that matter to the community. One big issue is local buildings being used as cannabis factories or the production or sale of drugs.

Things to look out for include:

🔸 Has there been comings and goings from the address at strange times of the day such as through the night?
🔸You don’t regularly see anyone coming or going from the address
🔸Curtains drawn on all windows all day and night
🔸New vents in the address, a humming news coming from the address or continuous building work or renovations throughout the night
🔸A strong smell of cannabis coming from the address
🔸As we move into the colder months a lack of frost or snow on the roof

⚠️Cannabis farms are very dangerous places and pose a serious risk of fire. Often the electricity meter has been bypassed and overloaded electrical circuits run close to water-filled pipes. Plants grown upstairs in a building can also cause floorboards to rot, presenting the danger of collapse. 🏠

👮 If so, then these concerns can be reported in a number of ways and helps officers to focus patrols and resources towards those affected addresses.

This can be reports to us directly via our force website or you can even stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.

🌿 As local officers we have disrupted a number of cannabis grows in the area this year, including two large business premises as well as residential houses so this information does make a big impact.

Officers have started the bank holiday weekend with some proactive shifts here is some of what we have been up to:

👮 Yesterday evening officers from C and D shift completed multiple successful arrest attempts on our area supported by the Neighbourhood Priority Team (NPT) and Safer Streets Team. C shift has continued this run with more successful attempts this evening with the NPT.

🚔 As we came to nights officers have been completing Nighttime Economy Duties in Harborough Town attending incidents in the local pubs.

🚗 Two stop searches completed on Gallow Field Road in the early hours of the morning as well as other vehicle stops across the area.

🚨 Responded to the report of a store alarm being set off and when officers arrive it was confirmed that the site had been broken into. Enquires will now continue to identify those linked to the break in. 🔍

👋 As we head into the bank holiday weekend officers will be out on patrol in Market Harborough. Tonight, D shift supported by local neighbourhood officers are currently out and about. If you have decided to brave the rain, then feel free to say hello if you see them around.

It’s been a busy week for officers covering our area and here is a snapshot of what we’ve been up too.

🚔The Neighbourhood Priority Team started strong with patrols in Market Harborough visiting some of our know drug areas, gathering and processing intelligence linked to those areas.

👮Arrested attempts have been completed for a number of wanted individuals supported by our response colleagues and a number of people arrested for being wanted on warrant.

✅Our traffic team have been on our area completing a number of traffic stops. A ticket had been issued after a stop on Market Harborough.

🚙Two stolen vehicles recovered. One being located in Broughton Astley and the other in Market Harborough.

💽Our PCSOs across Market Harborough, Lutterworth and the villages have been completely patrols on their beats. They have also visited local stores to collect CCTV, update reports made by local stores and complete house to house enquires.

🔍Our response teams have located and safeguarded a number of missing people.

🛍️The Safer Streets Team have been continued to progress reports of theft made in Harborough Town and surrounding villages. From our enquiries we were surprised to see some familiar faces and don’t worry we’ll be catching up with them soon.

🐑Officers have been dealing with reports of sheep in the road as after all we are a very rural area and you never know what you might find.

🌧️Officers have also attended a number of road traffic collisions. It is also a timely reminder as we move to the wetter weather to take caution on the roads.

This is just some of what officers get up to as well as responding to 999 calls and carrying a list of their own investigations. We start tonight with a double shift of officers who will be back on patrol across our area so feel free to say hello if you see us around 👋

Stay safe and enjoy the bank holiday weekend - Local Officers 🩵

Today, PC's 1761 and 1664 attended a public consultation event at The Great Bowden Church, to meet with members of the community, listen to their concerns, and discuss issues affecting the area.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with us. Topics raised included anti-social behaviour, road safety, parking issues, and neighbourhood crime. These conversations are invaluable in helping us understand the concerns of local residents and identify where Police resources can be best focused.

We are committed to working alongside our communities, addressing concerns where possible, and providing reassurance through visible engagement and partnership working.

If you were unable to attend but wish to raise a concern or provide feedback, please get in touch with your local Policing team.

Working together to keep our communities safe. 🚔👮‍♂️👮‍♂️
