As the certifying authority for recovery and restoration practitioners members gain professional accreditation, as a BDMA Technician or Senior Technician, through a tiered examination system. This enables them to display the Collective Mark, allowing potential customers and the public in general to identify professional technicians and competent corporate damage management organisations. A trainin

g and examination programme for insurers and loss adjusters, leading to accreditation as a BDMA Insurance Technician, enables transparency and greater understanding of the benefits of professional damage management. This allows the insurance industry to recognise best practice and solutions that reduce claims costs and improve the customer experience. Accreditation as BDMA Claims Practitioners is also available, via examination, for those engaged in property claims who do not meet the criteria for the above categories. It's International Dog Day! Meet some of the four-legged members of the BDMA community🐕

The Restoration Rangers have been back in the workshop. 🏁

After recovering from the race in Barrow earlier this month, the BDMA team got together at the weekend to give the kart some attention. Adjustments were made to the kart to reduce weight and improve performance over the jumps. They also made changes to the nose of the kart in the hope of shaving valuable seconds off their time through improved aerodynamics.

A big thank you to Peter Brown and John Thompsonfor giving up their time to modify and improve the kart!

The final race of the year takes place on 19 September in Hunstanton. So far, the Restoration Rangers have raised £2,000 through sponsorship for four fantastic charities. Iness brings a fresh creative perspective and a strong background in graphic design, with a particular passion for branding, digital design and visual storytelling.

Over the course of her internship, Iness will be supporting a range of BDMA projects, helping to enhance how we engage with our members and the wider industry through creative and impactful design.

The BDMA pig has good news!🐷

Many of our followers will remember Panzer the pig, who joined the BDMA family in 2024 thanks to Lee Goodwin and Jack Corden's generous donations to Alzheimer's Research UK.

🏁 What a weekend for the BDMA Restoration Rangers! 🏁

We had an absolute blast at the Barrow-in-Furness Downhill Kart Race, finishing 10th out of 18 teams. There were some seriously fast karts out there! 🚀

A major highlight was being recognised by the organisers Barrow BID for our charity fundraising efforts and winning the 🏆 Most Innovative Kart Design award.

Our kart is designed to be more than just a racing machine. Its bodywork provides sponsorship opportunities for organisations across our membership network, helping us raise money for charity through our racing adventures.

We were also made to feel incredibly welcome by the local teams and the wider community. A special shout-out to Joe and the Minions at Gru's Gang and to BAE Systems. You have some brilliant ambassadors! 👏

A huge thank you to the organisers, volunteers, marshals, and everyone who supported the event.

We loved seeing young drivers, and those who are simply young at heart, jumping into the BDMA kart for a test drive. The enthusiasm and community spirit in Barrow were truly second to none. ❤️

A milestone worth celebrating!

We were delighted to welcome John Thompson to the BDMA office to present his 25 Years of Membership pin badge and commemorative pen, recognising an incredible milestone and his long-standing commitment to the BDMA community.

Reflecting on receiving his recognition, John said:

“It is very nice to receive recognition of 25 years of membership. The pen seems too nice to press into service – I shall have to save it for special documents! Or do I keep it in mint condition to become a collector’s item? I will definitely wear my new badge with pride at upcoming BDMA events!”
