BDMA The British Damage Management Association (BDMA) is the certifying body for the damage management industry. https://linktr.ee/TheBDMA

As the certifying authority for recovery and restoration practitioners members gain professional accreditation, as a BDMA Technician or Senior Technician, through a tiered examination system. This enables them to display the Collective Mark, allowing potential customers and the public in general to identify professional technicians and competent corporate damage management organisations. A training and examination programme for insurers and loss adjusters, leading to accreditation as a BDMA Insurance Technician, enables transparency and greater understanding of the benefits of professional damage management. This allows the insurance industry to recognise best practice and solutions that reduce claims costs and improve the customer experience. Accreditation as BDMA Claims Practitioners is also available, via examination, for those engaged in property claims who do not meet the criteria for the above categories. 🌊 Flood Action Week 2026

The BDMA was delighted to attend yesterday evening’s Flood Action Week 2026 reception at The Deep in Hull. The event introduced the findings of the Everyday Property Flood Resilience Testing project, delivered by Flood Re in partnership with the University of Hull.

Following six months of testing temporary flood protection measures, the project has provided valuable insights into the low-cost interventions that could help homeowners protect their properties from low-depth flooding.

💡 Did you know? New research and controlled flood tests commissioned by Flood Re and carried out by the University of Hull found that high-quality duct tape reduced water leakage through a front door by 97–98%, when compared with an unprotected door.

A big thank you to Flood Re and the University of Hull for bringing everyone together to share the research findings and continue to help raise awareness of flood preparedness.

What a day! 🏎️💨

The Restoration Rangers had an amazing time at the Hunstanton Soap Box Derby on Sunday.

What an incredible turnout, a brilliant atmosphere and fantastic team spirit. It was the perfect way to round off the 2026 season.
