π An Important Update from Warsop Wildlife π
After a great deal of deliberation and many difficult conversations, it is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the TEMPORARY CLOSURE of Warsop Wildlife.
This is not goodbye forever. Just a pause.
We will still be on hand for EMERGENCIES when desperate help is needed. However general admits will no longer be taking place.
Over the coming weeks and months, we will be exploring ways to secure the future of Warsop Wildlife. We need more volunteer drivers to help transport animals into care, more support from local businesses and individuals, and more fundraising opportunities to help us continue our work. If you can help with any of these please do get in touch.
For the past three years, we have poured everything we have into this rescue. We have pushed through exhaustion, sacrificed personal time, and done our absolute best to be there whenever wildlife needed us. But the reality is that we have reached a point where we simply cannot continue operating as we are.
Behind every rescue, every late night call, every emergency journey, and every round the clock feed is a small team of volunteers. We are not just rescuers; we are parents, partners, employees, carers, and people with homes, families, commitments, and responsibilities of our own. Right now, every single one of us is completely worn out.
What started as a small voluntary team in our hometown grew into something much bigger than we ever imagined. Over the years, our name became trusted across the county, and we are incredibly proud of the thousands of wild animals we have been able to help along the way.
But pride alone does not keep a rescue running.
We regularly find ourselves at full capacity while more animals desperately need help. We face the heartbreak of knowing wildlife needs rescuing, yet we simply do not have the space, resources, volunteers, or capacity to respond. The reality of round the clock feeds, ongoing rehabilitation, and travelling miles to attend rescues has become unsustainable.
Wildlife rescues are few and far between, and nearly every one of them is already stretched to breaking point. The sad truth is that without greater support, more rescues will be forced to close their doors, whether temporarily or permanently.
The simple truth is this: the more support we receive, the more wildlife we can save.
Operating from limited space has always presented challenges, but we have never stopped doing everything we can for the animals that come through our doors. Our long-term dream remains the same, to secure a dedicated premises from which we can operate. A permanent facility would not only allow us to help more wildlife, but would also create opportunities for additional volunteers to become directly involved in animal care and rehabilitation.
To everyone who has supported us over the last three years, whether through donations, sharing our posts, volunteering, transporting animals, or simply believing in what we do, thank you ππ Your support has helped save countless lives, and for that we will always be grateful.
Please continue to follow our page as we work behind the scenes, discuss our future, and launch pledges and appeals to help secure the long-term future of Warsop Wildlife.
This may be a pause, but we sincerely hope it is not the end.
Thank you for standing with us.
