If you haven't registered your vehicle to use the recycling centre you need to have done this by 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 👇

♻️Do you use our household waste recycling centres?
From 28 September, your vehicle will need to be registered with us to continue using the sites.
The registration system will:
🟢help prevent our centres being used by people living outside the county.
🟢help ensure we only pay for waste and recycling for Derbyshire residents.
Vehicles that have not been registered will be refused access.

In August, the government released a new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), bringing some significant changes. These updates affect the Town Council’s position on the Local Plan Review, and our website has now been updated to reflect this: https://darleydale.gov.uk/local-plan-2026/

If you haven’t yet submitted your views to the District Council you have until Monday 14th September, please take a moment to read our updated perspective before sending in your comments.

Another huge thank you to the Darley Dale Community Volunteering Group for tackling yet another stretch of the White Loop Peak last week.

The team cleared back scrub alongside the multi‑user trail and planted several small plots with a carefully chosen wildflower mix, including yellow rattle - funded by a grant from the Derbyshire Dales District Community Fund.

After raking off the vegetation that had been cut a few days earlier, they prepared the ground, scattered the seed mix and stamped it in. Now we just have to wait for all those lovely flowers and grasses to burst into life next spring.

The group will be working on a couple more areas of the trail next month, continuing their fantastic efforts.
