We’re delighted to welcome David Hood to Darley Dale Town Council as our newest Councillor - and yes, that does mean we now have five Davids on the Council!

David brings extensive experience in fundraising for community and charity projects and is committed to using his skills and connections to support and strengthen the Darley Dale community.

Our Mayor, Jason Farmer, has now returned home after a wonderful visit to Onzain - the French town twinned with Darley Dale.

He was welcomed incredibly warmly by Onzain’s Mayor and residents, and spent his time learning more about their community, local projects and the partnership opportunities that continue to strengthen the bond between our towns. Here are a few photos of this magical experience.

Thank you to Darley Dale Twinning for inviting Jason to take part in the visit, and for the wonderful turnout from those who went on the trip from Darley Dale and the surrounding area.

We’re proud to have awarded Memory Lane Darley Dale £1,000 this April.

For 18 years, this wonderful community group has brought people together every month for friendship, entertainment, short trips and their much‑loved Christmas Community Concert. This funding will help support their ongoing work and keep the group thriving.

Update on changes for free 30 minute parking in Bakewell 👇

Visitors can access 30 minutes of free parking at the Market Place car park for quick stops.

Following recent tariff adjustments, the 30-minute free parking at Granby Road car park is no longer available.
