LOCAL PLAN CONSULTATION PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION - ONLINE TUESDAY 25 AUGUST 5-7PM
Join the District Council's Planning Policy team online to find out more about how to submit your response to the 'Regulation 19' consultation on the draft Local Plan. To request a link to the online meeting, please email [email protected]

The draft Plan sets out how the district outside of the National Park should develop over the next 15 years, including where new homes and workplaces will be built. The six-week public consultation is now open and will run from 3 August–14 September 2026.

Public events are being held as follows:

Matlock Town Hall Committee Room on Tuesday 11 August 2-7pm (drop in any time during the event).
Online via Teams on Tuesday 25 August 5-7pm and Tuesday 1 September 12-2pm.
Ashbourne Leisure Centre on Wednesday 9 September 2-7pm (drop in any time during the event).

Christina is our dedicated business adviser who provides a free, comprehensive service to any established business in the Derbyshire Dales. Steve, Amanda, Nancy and Esther make up the rest of the team, so hello from us!

The Economic Development team at Derbyshire Dales Derbyshire Dales District Council carries out business surveys every couple of years, but between them, it's good to check in and see how things are going.

Needing to expand their services, Mount Cook Adventure Centre https://www.mountcook.uk/ applied for a Derbyshire Dales grant towards kitchen equipment to make better use of their space, particularly in terms of dining and being able to offer use of the kitchen to groups.

They were successful and were awarded a Business Development Grant of £19,182 by Derbyshire Dales District Council.

Steve Turner, Chief Executive of the centre, said 'We were really pleased to receive the grant from Derbyshire Dales District Council. It enabled us to make much better use of our space and to enable an increase in dining space.'
