☀️🍎Summer Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme 🎾🎨

The Cambridgeshire County Council programme operates between 21 July to 28 August across Cambridgeshire.

Children eligible for benefits-related free school meals can access a funded place at a HAF holiday scheme for up to 64 hours. Families experiencing financial hardship can also qualify.

As it is National Volunteers' Week, Melbourn Parish Council would like to thank the amazing people that make our community great.

Volunteers are the backbone of everything our Parish Council achieves - from supporting local projects to helping bring community ideas to life, their time, energy, and dedication make a real difference.

We’re incredibly grateful for every volunteer who helps our village thrive 👏

Melbourn Timebank, Melbourn Action Community Support, Melbourn Fete, Melbourn Hub, Mix Music, Melbourn Library, River Mel Restoration Group, Stockbridge Meadows Volunteers, Memorial Garden Volunteer, Numerous Litter Pickers and everyone who takes the time to build a better community.

Our friends at Meridian Primary Care Network and Run For Your Life Cambridge have teamed up to offer a FREE 'Couch to 5km' series of running sessions for complete beginners, starting on 1st July meeting outside Melbourn Hub at 9.30am. This is safe, supportive and sustainble running - no-one gets left behind!

Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome, but if you have high blood pressure, or are diabetic/pre-diabetic or experience low mood or anxiety, this is particularly aimed at helping you boost your health and wellbeing. If you are interested, email [email protected] to let them know you'd like to join.

🚗Older Driver Workshops - from Cambridgeshire County Council 🚖

What should older residents expect from attending?

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Older Driver Workshops are free sessions designed for those over 65 and currently driving, to help them keep driving safely for longer. We discuss how driving can become more challenging as we get older, and what simple checks we can do at home to keep ourselves fit to drive.
