💚💙 Over £3,400 raised for FearFree and Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity!

Following a successful evening of fundraising at the Mayor’s Reception, the Mayor of Melksham, Saffi Rabey, proudly presented £3,435 to the chosen charities, FearFree and Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance.

This fantastic achievement reflects the generosity and community spirit of everyone involved. Thank you to all who attended, volunteered and donated. Each contribution will help support the life-changing work these charities deliver across our communities.

Special recognition goes to our event sponsors: TaxAssist Accountants, The Hiding Place Micropub, CrossFit Civitas, Melksham Recycling & Skips Ltd., Planet Leasing, Dick Lovett Group, Rhino Play - Playground Equipment Supplier and Shutterly Fabulous.

Melksham Town Council is proud to support local charities that make a real difference in our communities. We look forward to continuing fundraising efforts throughout the year for this year’s new chosen charities.

To mark Pride Month, the Pride flag is flying above the Town Hall during June.

Pride Month is an opportunity to recognise the contribution of LGBTQ+ people to our communities and to reflect on the importance of dignity, respect and inclusion for all.

Happy Pride Month.

Splash Pad Update – Melksham

We wanted to provide an update on the Splash Pad following recent concerns raised about the flooring.
Melksham Town Council has been in direct contact with the contractor, Splash, and we are treating this issue as a priority. The contractor is due on site tomorrow to carry out repairs to the flooring.

Please note that this work is weather-dependent and will require dry conditions, along with approximately 24 hours for the surface to fully set. This means there may be a short delay before the Splash Pad can safely reopen.

In addition, the Director from Splash will be attending a meeting with Council officers and councillors within the two weeks to review the situation in full and ensure we move forward appropriately.

We want to reassure residents that the Council is dealing with this proactively to ensure we have a fantastic summer for everyone.

We understand how valued the Splash Pad is, particularly at this time of year, and we appreciate your patience while this work is completed safely and properly.

Thank you for your understanding.
