🌿➡️💦 GREEN TO CLEAN — ANOTHER POOL TRANSFORMED! 💦

Another Green to Clean service carried out by Poolgenix Ltd.

This was quite a large residential swimming pool that had been left with a serious build-up of leaves, debris and algae. 😳🌿

Now, we’re not going to lie… this pool location goes completely against everything we tell clients about having trees surrounding your swimming pool! 😂🌳

But sometimes, you’ve got to work with what you’ve got!

After plenty of cleaning, filtration, chemical treatment and perseverance, we’ve brought this pool back to a condition where the client can start enjoying it again. 👌🏻

And although we’re heading towards the end of the swimming season, who knows… we might get an extended summer yet! ☀️🏊‍♂️

💪 COMMERCIAL SPA SCALE REMOVAL! 🧼♨️

We were contacted to carry out a thorough deep clean of this commercial spa surround, removing years of built-up calcium deposits and scale.

This wasn’t an easy one! 😅
The aged scale had really taken hold and proved a tough task to remove, but with the right approach, plenty of perseverance and some serious elbow grease, we got the job completed. 👌🏻

✨ The result? A much cleaner, fresher-looking spa surround, ready for the spa to reopen and welcome guests again.

🤦‍♂️🤮 FIBRE FILTER BALLS… REALLY?!

Another day, another interesting discovery in the world of swimming pools! 😂

A new client contacted Poolgenix Ltd after experiencing ongoing filtration issues.

Upon inspection of the filter, we opened it up and discovered… FIBRE FILTER BALLS! 🤦‍♂️😂

Now, fibre balls may provide filtration for a period of time, but there’s one major problem…

YOU CAN’T BACKWASH THEM! 🤯

And before anyone blames the client — these came with the pool installation package and the filter was even labelled with a backwashing procedure. So, understandably, he wouldn’t have known any different.

The reality is, fibre balls simply aren’t practical for a conventional backwashing filter.

To clean them properly, you need to remove them from the filter and rinse them out — or apparently throw them in the washing machine! 😂🤦‍♂️

Not exactly ideal when you want your pool maintenance to be quick, effective and hassle-free.

So… OUT THEY CAME! 🗑️

We removed the fibre balls and replaced them with high-quality AFM filter media, giving the client the ability to carry out an effective backwash and properly maintain the filtration system.

🔧 NEW CLIENT | PUMP INSTALLATION ISSUE 🤦‍♂️

A new client contacted Poolgenix Ltd after purchasing a replacement circulation pump… only to discover it didn’t fit the existing pipework! 🤦‍♂️

With a few key details taken from the client beforehand, we were able to identify exactly what was needed and, luckily, had the required parts already in stock.

This meant we could provide a fast and responsive repair, adapting the existing pipework and getting the new pump installed and ready to get the pool circulating again. 💦

We also cut back and reinstated the wiring correctly before testing the installation to make sure everything was operating as it should. ✅

Another problem solved and another pool back up and running! 👌🏻

💪🏻 THIS CIRCULATION PUMP WEIGHED A TON! 😂

Another commercial circulation pump replacement successfully completed by Poolgenix Ltd 👌🏻

We were contacted by another pool company to carry out the installation of a new circulation pump for a private health club.

The old faulty pump was disconnected and carefully removed before we got stuck into installing the replacement.

🔧 Removed the faulty circulation pump
⚙️ Installed the new pump
🔄 Checked the motor rotation — particularly important with a 3-phase motor
💧 Resealed the composite unions
🖥️ Entered the required settings into the separate inverter
✅ Fully tested and confirmed everything was operating correctly

A straightforward job on paper… apart from the fact that the pump weighed an absolute TON! 💪🏻😂

Another job successfully completed and another commercial client back up and running.

🚨 10 YEARS LEFT… AND WE GOT THE CALL! 😳😂 🚨

Poolgenix Ltd were contacted by a residential client after this swimming pool had been left for around 10 YEARS!

Amongst our busy commercial workload, we received the call explaining that the pool needed a “good clean”.

Once the job was accepted, we quickly realised there was a little more to this one than we bargained for! 🤦‍♂️😂

What started as a swimming pool had turned into something resembling vegetable soup 🥦🫛🌿

And then came the discovery… 😳

Amongst the delights, we unfortunately found what we believe to have been the remains of a hare that had been in there for some time. 🐇💀

Once that little surprise was dealt with, it was time to crack on with the job in hand!

Our engineer Ben was extremely enthusiastic about jumping straight in and vacuuming out the last few inches of water… while I stood safely on the side taking pictures and videos! 😂📸

We both mucked in and got stuck into it:

💧 Chemical treatment
🧹 Vacuuming the remaining water
✨ Thorough cleaning and buffing
🧽 Chemically cleaning the copings
🏊 Getting the pool ready for its next chapter

After plenty of hard work, the pool was brought back to a much cleaner condition and buffed to a shine, ready for the client to refill whenever they decide.

Although, surprisingly, we were actually instructed to leave the pool empty! 🤦‍♂️😂

Why clean the copings as well?

Because we can! 😂👍🏻

🔧 CIRCULATION PUMP REPLACEMENT — AND A FEW INSTALLATION SURPRISES! 😂

Another circulation pump replacement completed by Poolgenix Ltd, including a new non-return valve and isolation valve to bring everything back up to standard.

Believe it or not, this particular pump is the only one of its kind sold in the UK for the past 14 years! 😳

You’ll probably notice the rather unusual 50mm discharge pipe… 😂

It looks a little bit like a large quad with small calves! 🦵😂

This particular pump has an unusual 50mm outlet connection, which presented a few challenges. Once we removed the existing connection, it became clear that the original installation had seen some… creative engineering!

It appeared the previous contractor didn’t have the correct fl**ge, so a plastic section had been modified with drilled holes which, if we’re being honest, were more rectangular than round! 🤦‍♂️😂

We’ve now installed the correct components and got everything working exactly as it should.

The new pump is performing perfectly, with a FlowVis flow meter installed to monitor circulation, working alongside the UV system previously installed by Poolgenix Ltd.

Another job completed properly with the right equipment, correct fittings and a system that works as it should. ✅

🔥 THIS ONE IS AN ABSOLUTE CRACKER! 🔥

Working alongside an incredible landscaping company and concrete spraying contractor, we’ve delivered what we can only describe as a true masterpiece.

The brief started with something simple the client had experienced a pool they loved whilst on holiday and wanted to recreate that feeling at home. With photographs, conversations and a few rough sketches, we turned their ideas into a stunning entertainment pool designed around exactly what they wanted.

Working closely with Paul at Smiths Landscaping and Dan and his concrete spraying team, we brought the whole project together.

Paul and the Smiths Landscaping team have created an incredible pool surround, complete with a fully functional outdoor kitchen and lounge area, creating the perfect space for entertaining and relaxing beside the pool.

🏊‍♂️ The Pool

Every detail was carefully considered, from the minimal and discreet fittings to the small spot LEDs and the stunning site liner, which perfectly complements the porcelain tiles surrounding the pool.

⚙️ Behind the scenes

The plant room features:

• Suitable filtration with multiport valve for ease of operation
• Sophisticated automatic chemical dosing system
• Remote monitoring for effortless chemical management
• 21kW inverter heat pump
• Intelligent inverter technology that reduces power consumption as the pool approaches its required temperature

And to finish it off, the pool has been fitted with a stunning Coverseal fully automatic safety cover, supplied and installed by Coverseal-approved installer Alistair and his team.

From rough sketches to a fully finished entertainment space this project shows exactly what can be achieved when everyone involved works together with the same vision.
