Independents wrote to our leader with concerns , democracy was over 60% for north city south and that’s what we want for the people

Plans for a major shake-up of local government have been put on hold.

Proposals to merge smaller councils to form larger authorities in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire will be reviewed and paused.

ITV Central News at 6pm Monday 7th September.

Politics should involve robust debate often with disagreements but it should not include personal abuse, intimidation and the targeting of people and their families should bever be accepted as simply 'part of politics'.

Tonight ITV Central News at 6.00pm looks at evidence, the culture, the people affected by it and those involved in the abuse who have been giving a sense of legitimacy to it which has damaged local people and our community.

We could stay silent, like many others, but we care about our community which is why we decided to answer ITV's questions.

The culture has not just affected councillors; council officers, councillors' families and members of the public have also been subjected to unacceptable personal abuse, intimidation and attacks

Carnt complain as the award winning town centre design guide was done under my portfolio under our joint administration and did push better bike parking after a resident contacted me .
How ever alittle of me still wanted planters and flowers up a dull looking street

Planning to cycle into town, or cycle into town regularly?

Windsor Street bike park will be closed for three weeks from Monday 7 September while we make improvements to the area.

You can park your bike at the council offices on Burton Street while the work takes place.

Once complete, the redesigned space will offer better cycle parking, with seating closer to the Windsor Street shops and Bowley Court, plus improvements to the neighbouring green space so it can be used as a picnic spot, with extra bins and a new planter.

Guided by our award-winning Town Centre Design Guide, the work will create a more practical and welcoming place for cyclists, shoppers and visitors.
