On Thursday, 10 cadets had the chance to do some high ropes at LOPC (leicester_outdoor_pursuits.) The cadets pushed their own limits, with all 10 completing every activity with big smiles, and had a chance to build their team working skills.

The night ended with the cadets jumping off the plank - backwards!!

Thank you to Leicester Outdoor Pursuits for having us! The cadets had an amazing time!

On Thursday, the squadron was visited by Ty Smith MBE, custodian for the Royal Leicestershire Regiment, who brought along medals awarded to members of the regiment including 4 Victoria Crosses:

- Lieutenant John Cridlan Barrett, First World War (24 September 1918)
- Lieutenant Colonel Philip Eric Bent, Belgium, First World War (1 October 1917)
- Private William Buckingham, First World War (10/12 March 1915)
- Corporal Philip Smith, Radan, Crimean War (18 June 1855)

The Victoria Crosses are held securely within Leicestershire, and they are often displayed within the county at various events.

They are of course priceless and irreplaceable, and of great interest to collectors. The Victoria Crosses cover campaigns over 170 years old.

Over the weekend, Cadets supported the Blaston Show. This included helping to set up and take down the arena for horse jumping, helping the staff to ensure everything ran smoothly, and helping reset the horse jumps after each competition.
On the Sunday, cadets also had some free time to explore the Blaston Show. They had the chance to meet some of the animals, look around the stalls and watch some of the events, this included Terrier racing!
The cadets all had so much fun, thank you to the staff of Blaston Show for having us!
