Dates for your Diaries.

As well as being there for anyone living with cancer, we are there for those who care and who support their family or friends.

We offer additional carers days in addition to our usual clinic days offering carers the chance to access complementary therapy sessions to aid relaxation, and reduce stress and anxiety. We also offer sessions with our hairdresser for cut and blow dry, or wash and style, giving carers an hour to look good, feel good, and take an hour for themselves.

We are also hosting carers afternoons - a chance to sit with others, meet new friends and enjoy a short trip in the local area. Starting with an afternoon tea in July.
Throughout the year we will offer a range of opportunities to support carers, and support their wellbeing.

We still have some spaces available for our Summer Holiday Noahs Ark Zoo Farm trip - spaces fully funded for carers and children.

To register and book any events or appointments please call us on 01685379633.

This week we are celebrating all of our incredible volunteers who are at the heart of everything we do at Cancer Aid Merthyr Tydfil.

Firstly our drivers who every single day are out on the road, ensuring patients can access treatment in hospitals across South Wales. From morning, until evening these incredible volunteers give up their time, to support other people and show such kindness and compassion every single day.

Our reception team who are the first voice you hear, or the first friendly face you see when you reach out and contact us. Sit alongside them in the drop in centre, or enjoy one of their cuppas while you wait. Friendly, kind, and always make the perfect cuppa.

The shop volunteers who week after week raised funds, sorted stock and made our former shop such a warm, welcoming space in the community.

The coffee morning team who every week are there making endless cups of tea or coffee, or the home bakers, and fundraisers who give up their own time to, make, bake and create to raise funds.

Our trustee team who ensure the charity is working towards its mission always, guiding staff, and supporting the charity behind the scenes.

Our community fundraisers like Maria who works tirelessly promoting the work of the charity and turning Merthyr red with her famous red ribbons.

Our friends in the community who organise fundraising quizzes, shows, events, walks, golf days, teas, bucket collections.... an endless list of brilliant people doing brilliant things.

You are all incredible and we are so grateful for the incredible team of volunteers we have. Whatever part you play in your volunteering role - be proud because you really do make such a difference. Diolch Yn Fawr.
