Working with Arolygiaeth Gofal Iechyd Cymru - AGIC / Healthcare Inspectorate Wales - HIW, we've published findings from our joint assurance check of learning disability services in Neath Port Talbot Council, covering Neath Port Talbot Council and Swansea Bay University Health Board.

Our inspection found strengths in how services are delivered, alongside areas where action is needed to ensure people consistently receive the support they are entitled to.

Playday Play Wales

We've completed a joint assurance check of Community Learning Disability Services in Neath Port Talbot Council, working alongside Arolygiaeth Gofal Iechyd Cymru - AGIC / Healthcare Inspectorate Wales - HIW.

We found a committed workforce delivering person-centred care, with strong multidisciplinary working and well-embedded safeguarding. We also identified important areas for improvement, including care and support plan reviews, Mental Capacity Act recording, and access to health services.

Section 5 of the Wales Safeguarding Procedures has been updated, strengthening how safeguarding allegations against practitioners and those in positions of trust are managed.
