‼️IMPORTANT UPDATE‼️
As a result of a significant rise in the flu virus circulating in Royal Glamorgan Hospital and increasingly on our other sites, we are introducing compulsory mask wearing for all staff and visitors within acute and community hospital settings, unless they are exempt.
Wearing a mask is an effective way to prevent yourself from catching or spreading the virus.
Respiratory illnesses and viruses can be dangerous for vulnerable patients in hospitals, and causes sickness among our staff, so it is important that we do what we can to prevent the spread of illnesses.
This requirement is vital to protect our patients, staff and visitors and applies to all areas of our hospital including:
• Front door areas (including emergency departments and maternity units)
• Outpatient areas
• Mental Health Units
• Community Hospitals
You can help us to contain the spread of the virus by only visiting our hospital sites if absolutely necessary.
Respiratory illnesses and viruses can be dangerous for vulnerable patients in hospitals.
If you are immunosuppressed, think you have a virus or have recently spent time with someone who has a virus, avoid visiting our hospitals.
