The Teesside Family Foundation have very kindly set up a Just Giving page to help fundraise for the repairs.

💔 PLEASE HELP US GET PRIORY WOODS’ MINIBUSES BACK ON THE ROAD 💔

I am absolutely heartbroken and angry writing this.

Three minibuses at Priory Woods School and Arts College in Middlesbrough have been badly damaged.

Just look at the photographs.

Smashed windows. A destroyed windscreen. Damage inside the vehicles.

One of these minibuses is particularly close to our hearts — The Teesside Family Foundation contributed £30,000 towards it.

But this isn't about £30,000.

IT'S ABOUT THE CHILDREN. ❤️

Priory Woods supports children with special educational needs and disabilities, and these buses are not a luxury.

They are a lifeline.

They get children to and from school and allow them to experience the things every child deserves — the beach, the woods, the theatre, theme parks, school trips and days out.

They provide freedom, inclusion, independence and memories.

And with the children due back at school next week, three of those lifelines are now off the road.

So we're doing what Teesside does best.

During the evening on Thursday, between 6:00pm and 7:30pm, two individuals repeatedly returned to our school site and vandalised three of our five minibuses.

The result of their actions is that, at the start of the new school year, many of our pupils may be unable to access trips, activities and community experiences that are such an important part of their education and development. With only two minibuses remaining available for the start of term, our ability to provide these opportunities will be significantly affected.

As a Special Educational Needs school, our minibuses are not a luxury. They are essential. They enable our students to access opportunities beyond the classroom, develop independence and take part in experiences that many people take for granted.

The damage caused includes smashed windows, damaged lights and significant vandalism inside the vehicles. The cost of repairing this damage will ultimately divert valuable resources that would otherwise be spent supporting the young people we are here to serve.

If you have any information that may assist, please contact the school or Cleveland Police. The incident was captured on CCTV and all footage has been supplied to Cleveland Police.

What has happened is far more than vandalism. It is our pupils who will pay the price through missed opportunities and disrupted experiences at the start of the school year.

A huge thank you to all of our amazing students, families and staff who supported our Sponsored Dance event. Thanks to your incredible generosity, on the latest count, we raised an incredible £1,138.06!

Students danced their hearts out, showed fantastic enthusiasm and had lots of fun along the way. Every donation, no matter how big or small, helped us reach this fantastic total.

We are so grateful for the support from our school community. Your kindness will help make a real difference and shows what can be achieved when we all work together.

Thank you for helping us turn our dance moves into something truly special!

Helen's class would like to say thank you' to The Long Acre at Skelton and Senses Wellbeing Centre CIC for helping us to enjoy our end of year outing.

We had a delicious lunch, supported brilliantly by the lovely Angie and the Longacre team. We then relaxed in our safe space at Senses. We were invited to try the trapezes and loved having a go. Thanks to Karen, her Team and Claire for your patience, enthusiasm and encouragement.

A great day was had by all.

🌞 Our Summer 2026 Newsletter is here! 🌞

What an incredible year it has been at Priory Woods School & Arts College!

From theatre performances, music concerts and dance projects to sports events, community visits, travel training, outdoor learning and our fantastic Prom, our students have achieved so much and made us incredibly proud.

This edition celebrates the wonderful experiences, achievements, creativity, independence and friendships that have made this year so special. We also take the opportunity to wish our leavers every success as they move on to exciting new adventures.

A huge thank you to our students, families, staff, governors and wider community for your continued support throughout the year.

We have all had a fantastic time during Sports Week!

Throughout the week, the children and young people took part in a wide range of exciting activities, including a football tournament, water activities, a danceathon, a fun run, traditional Sports Day events, and celebrating our countries as part of our World Cup theme. There were many other fun challenges and opportunities during the week.

A huge well done to all of the students for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and excellent participation throughout the week.
