🎶 Year 10 students welcome special visitor to music lesson 🎶

Last week, our Year 10 students had a special visitor to their lesson, Hartlepool born Musical Theatre performer, Suryan Hadrick.

Suryan spoke to students about his journey from the north east to lead vocalist on cruise ships and stages in London.

What an inspiring session for our students! Thank you for taking the time to visit us 🙌

For the first time at AGS, we are hosting a non-uniform day to raise funds for The Meserani Project and Comic Relief! 🙌

Students (and staff!) are encouraged to WEAR A RED ITEM tomorrow (20th March) ❤️

Our expectation are 👇
➡️ Clothing must be appropriate and respectful
➡️ Standards are to be kept high
➡️ Students must bring their lanyard, school bag and equipment as part of our AGS Way

Well done to all of the Year 11 students who have attended our Maths Paper Biscuit Club, doubling the numbers last week from our first session!

Students have been attending on a Tuesday lunch time to push themselves to be the best they can be and prepare the best they can for their upcoming exams.

It's never too late to start! All Year 11 students are welcome to attend the sessions 👇

✨ International Women's Day Celebration ✨

Some of our students attended an International Women's Day Celebration at Bede Sixth Form College where they listened to speeches from women involved in professional sport and then competed against other schools from the area in their chosen sports.

➡️ Our netball team were successful in winning their tournament 🏆
➡️ Our football team finished fourth 👏
➡️ Two students were also recognised for their achievements and received individual awards in rugby 🏅

Thank you to Bede Sixth Form College for a fantastic and inspiring day celebrating women in sport! 🙌

✨ FIRST LEGO League Event ✨

Last week, some of our students attended the FIRST LEGO League Event at Nissan in Sunderland.

The league is an international STEM robotics competition where teams design, build and program Lego robotos to complete mission-based challenges, whilst also researching and presenting innovative solutions to real-world problems.

This year's theme was 'Unearthed', which focused on archeology and challenged students to explore how discoveries from the past connect to modern technology.

As part of the event, students delivered a presentation about their project, looking at how new technology could be used in archeology!
