It’s been a busy and positive week in North Ormesby, where our Community Development Officers (CDOs) have been out engaging the community, listening to concerns, and offering support. During the day, they picked up and reported several issues, including referring residents to Neighbourhood Safety following reported concerns, reporting properties in disrepair to EHTS, and supporting a family to access education and wider support services.

We were also joined by our Waste Management Team, who shared useful recycling tips ♻️ and introduced the new bin system being rolled out across Middlesbrough.

Our caretakers were out too, working hard to clean the area, paint bollards and alley gates, and help make the neighbourhood look tidy and welcoming. Resident feedback from the day was very positive and they really liked the transformation.

Pupils from St Alphonsus Primary and North Ormesby Primary Academy were invited to join us for fun activities during the day and to a workshop taking place in the forthcoming weeks.

It was a fantastic week that brought residents and partners together to make a visible difference while enjoying the community spirit.

We recently held some pop-up events across East Middlesbrough for residents of all ages to attend. The latest event was held this week on Henry Street play field.
The events gave local people the opportunity to come together, connect, and enjoy a few hours of fun in a welcoming and relaxed environment. We also took time to listen to residents, hear their views, and build positive relationships while creating memorable experiences for everyone involved.

There was something for everyone to enjoy, including:
⚽ Football games and challenges
🎨 Arts and crafts
🏆 Friendly competitions and team games
🎯 Family games and entertainment
😊 Opportunities to meet neighbours and make new friends
It was great to see residents coming along with family, friends, or on their own to get involved in their local area.

🌟 Community Coming Together 🌟
A great first step was taken yesterday as a group of local residents came together to begin forming a new community group, working under the guidance of TOC H.
The aim? To bring funding opportunities, activities, and arts into the area, creating something positive and led by the community, for the community. 🎨🤝
This is just the beginning, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and share ideas
