Wildfires across the country. Homes are being destroyed. Communities are being put at risk.

This isn't some distant future. Climate change is real, it's happening now, and we're already seeing it's consequences.

The time to act is now. We cannot keep treating the climate crisis as something we can put off.

Could you help support your local Green Party? 💚

If you are interested in…
✅ Growing the green membership and community in South Tees
✅ Meeting local people with shared views
✅ Seeing Green Party wins across England; and in Teesside

Then we need you!

There’s plenty of ways to support us, this can be in person through volunteering at action days, surveying and events — information for these are sent out in our regular email newsletter and on the STGP WhatsApp community group chat.

But if you don’t think you have the time or aren’t able to make commitments, you can support us in other ways by simply becoming a member or donating to us, which means we have more money available for our campaigns and activities, or you could even just help The Green Party by supporting our social media accounts; liking, commenting and resharing to grow our community.

💚 Become a member of South Tees Green Party now, from as little as £6 a year.

💚 WE NEED YOU

Next year, we have local elections in all 44 wards in South Tees across Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland, and we're capable of getting great results, but we cannot do that without you, so could you be a councillor?

Are you...
✅ Willing to be dedicated and active in your local area
✅ Approachable and willing to stand up for residents
✅ Hard-working, open minded and able to solve problems
✅ Able to provide honesty and accountability for local issues

If you think you have what it takes to stand up for your local area and get on the ballot next May, get in touch with us via our email ([email protected]) or you can simply send us a text on this page.

Just this week, raw sewage has been discharged into Marske Sands by Northumbrian Water.

Why are we allowing these companies to pollute our waters, leaving people and their pets ill?

The Green Party will not accept this - we’ll get water companies back in public control and refuse pouring sewage into our rivers and seas.

💚 Support our members!

One of our great members, Simone, will be climbing Roseberry Topping this May to fundraise for transgender youth charity Mermaids 🏳️‍⚧️

"I'm challenging myself to get active for one very important reason. To help ensure trans young people and their families can continue to access the emotional, informative, and peer-to-peer support they deserve."

Simone has been a member of South Tees Green Party for a few months, joining in January this year. Even though Simone hasn't been a member for that long, they said; "Absolutely loving it! Getting involved with everything and have made so many new friends with likeminded values" 💚✨

Local elections in South Tees are coming up next year, and we need volunteers to get us ready!

We're hosting regular events in two of our target wards which are Saltburn and Park (Middlesbrough).

🌊 Saltburn Action Days
On the 2nd Saturday of every month, we're meeting in Saltburn at 10:30am to deliver leaflets, door-knock and complete our 60 second surveys to find out what local residents want in their area. Please be aware that our meeting location can vary to ensure we're canvassing the whole area throughout our action days. Training will be provided for first-time volunteers. You can RSVP to these events on our members platform, Action Network, via the link which is published in our regular mailing list newsletters, and more information can be found on there. Our upcoming dates are: 13th June, 11th July, 8th August, 12th September, 10th October.

🌳 Park Litter Pick
On the last Sunday of every month, we're meeting at Albert Park in Middlesbrough (Park ward) at 10am to litter pick. Most residents we speak to in South Tees say that fly tipping is a major issue for them, so let's clean up our local area and keep our parks and streets tidy! We're also organising canvassing in the ward too, so stay tuned for that coming up. Once again, you can RSVP through the Action Network link which will be published closer to the events date. Our upcoming dates are: 31st May, 28th June, 26th July, 30th August, 27th September.

❓Can anybody volunteer?
As long as you're a member of The Green Party, absolutely! Volunteering and campaigning with us is easy, rewarding and anyone can do it. Full training will be provided for events and our leadership committee and other more experienced volunteers are here to help, so if you are confused on anything, feel free to text our page and ask us, email or speak to us in person at our events!

💚 Hope to see you at an event soon! Join the Green Party here: https://join.greenparty.org.uk

JOIN THE GREEN PARTY 💚

We are just a few away from 500 members in South Tees, and nationally The Green Party now has over 230K members. There's never been a better time to join the fight for change to help us defeat Reform.

It costs as little as £6 a year to become a member and shape the future of South Tees.

The 2026 local elections have taught us something: The Green Party is winning - but we can't win without you.

Locally, Hartlepool Green Party received a record breaking amount of votes last week in their council elections. Nationally, we gained hundreds of councillors and we now have around 1,300 Green Party councillors.

We can win, we are winning, but we can't win without you.

The threat of Reform in our local areas is too big - and we need to start now to get prepared for our local elections in South Tees next year.

If you've been a member for years, months, days, or you haven't even joined yet - we need you in our local area to make hope normal again in South Tees.

Good luck to all councillor candidates in today's local election! 💚

Whilst in South Tees we don't have local elections this year, we hope to see a lot more council seats turning Green tonight!

If you're in a ward that does have an election today and haven't voted yet, remember polls are open until 10pm and you need photo ID to vote.

PS. Think you could be a councillor? We're looking for our own candidates across South Tees for next year's local elections - get in touch with us!
