Millom Fire Station

Last night ourselves and Bootle Fire Station carried out a joint BA exercise. The building was heavily smoked logged which made visibility very poor. The exercise involved 3 live casualties trapped within the building. Crews utilised 8 BA wearers, 45mm delivery hose, 1 hose reel jets, 2 thermal imaging cameras.

Being able to make exercises as real life as possible is a great way for our crews to train in difficult circumstances and make sure our skills are put to good use and keep ourselves safe. 🚒🚒

We would like to give a massive shout out to Millom Palladium for allowing us to use there facilities and also the volunteers who gave up there time on a lovely sunny night to be our live casualties

Tonight ourselves,Bootle Fire Station and Broughton-in-Furness Fire Station carried out a joint BA exercise in a commercial building. The building was heavily smoked logged which made visibility very poor. The exercise involved 1 casualty trapped within the building. Crews utilised 4 BA wearers, 2 hose reel jets, 2 thermal imaging cameras.

Another part of this exercise was to test our skills in case one of our Firefighters got injured/into difficulty while in the building. We sent a further 4 BA wearers in carrying a EASE pack and a spinal board to safely extract the injured firefighter.

Being able to make exercises as real life as possible is a great way for our crews to train in difficult circumstances and make sure our skills are put to good use and keep ourselves safe. 🚒🚒
