Cheaper bus travel across the west of Scotland from Monday.

A £2 bus fare cap is being introduced across the Strathclyde area, alongside new laws aimed at improving local bus services across Scotland.

We will roll out a nationwide cap by the end of this parliament.

From 2027-28, the Scottish Child Payment will rise to £40 a week for eligible children under one.

Around 12,000 children a year are expected to benefit.

💛 New figures show that nearly 1 million young people benefit from the Scottish National Party (SNP) free bus travel scheme.

🚌 Across East and West Dunbartonshire just under 10 million journeys have been made by young people, allowing them to access employment, education and leisure activities without worrying about the cost.

Starting P1 comes with enough costs already. 🎒

From August 2027, every child starting P1 in Scotland will get a free school backpack, with stationery, a water bottle and learning resources inside.

A simple bit of help to make that first day a little easier.
