👋 Meet Amanda, our new Deputy Clerk!

We’re delighted to welcome Amanda Harmsworth to the Walton Community Council team.

Amanda joins us from Kents Hill & Monkston Parish Council and is passionate about helping people, meeting members of the community and, in her own words, “getting the job done!”

Away from work, Amanda loves spending time with her grandchildren and enjoying walks and adventures with her dog. 🐾

Please join us in giving Amanda a very warm welcome—we’re delighted to have her on board! 💚

⚠️ STREET FOOD MARKET CANCELLED TONIGHT ⚠️

Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, tonight’s Street Food Market at Hindhead Knoll, 5–9pm, has been cancelled.

We are really sorry for the short notice, but with thunder and lightning in the area, the safety of our residents, visitors, stallholders and staff has to come first. 💙

We know many of you were looking forward to joining us this evening, and we’re incredibly disappointed too. However, we feel this is the responsible decision given the conditions.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you all at our next community event! ❤️

There is an incredible amount of work taking place behind the scenes every day to keep Walton Community Council running smoothly, responsibly and effectively.

Our Clerk, Finance Officer and Administration Officer, works tirelessly on behalf of the Council and our community.

Their work includes:

📋 Supporting councillors and preparing council meetings
📝 Producing agendas, minutes and official documents
💷 Managing budgets, payments, payroll and financial records
📞 Responding to residents’ enquiries
🏛️ Ensuring the Council meets its legal and statutory responsibilities
🤝 Coordinating staff, contractors and council services
📁 Managing policies, projects and administration
✅ Turning council decisions into action

Much of this important work happens quietly in the background, but it is absolutely essential to everything Walton Community Council does.

A huge thank you to our dedicated office and finance team for their professionalism, hard work and commitment👏💙
