ASB Awareness Week – Community Update

During Great Linford parish council Community Forum, concerns were raised about anti-social behaviour taking place at a local play park in Pennyland, Milton Keynes, specifically involving individuals gathering at the shelter in the evenings to consume alcohol and leave behind litter.
We’d like to remind residents and visitors that this area is covered by a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO), meaning that drinking alcohol in this location is not permitted.
Breaches of a PSPO can result in enforcement action.
In response to the concerns raised, this location has now been added to the Neighbourhood Policing Team’s patrol plans. Officers and PCSOs will be conducting increased patrols in the area, particularly during the evening hours.
We understand the importance of keeping our public spaces safe and welcoming for everyone, especially children and families using the play area.
If you witness any anti-social behaviour, please report it:
• 📞 101 (or 999 in an emergency)
• 💻 Online via the Thames Valley Police website
Your feedback at community meetings is invaluable—thank you for continuing to work with us to address local issues.

Today, officers from the Milton Keynes Harm Reduction Unit worked alongside the local Neighbourhood Policing Team, in partnership with Kents Hill Park Secondary School, to deliver Operation Detect — a local initiative designed to reduce knife crime through engagement, education and a screening process that acts as both a deterrent and a conversation starter. 👮‍♂️🗣️

Around 600 students walked through a screening arch, and we’re pleased to report that no prohibited items were found 🙌🔍

Officers also spoke with students about the realities of knife crime, how to stay safe, and how police use stop‑search powers to prevent harm. To get students thinking, we posed this question: Did you know police can stop and search someone — without a warrant or consent — if they reasonably suspect they’re carrying a knife? Understanding these powers helps young people recognise how we work to keep them and their community safe.

If you know someone carrying a knife or weapon, you can report it directly to us on our website or via 101.

🤫 Or anonymously via Crimestoppers here:

👮🚲 Another day of patrols, another opportunity to make a difference.

As part of Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action, CMK NHPT officers have been carrying out high-visibility foot and cycle patrols across the city centre, engaging with businesses, residents and visitors, while tackling issues that matter most to our communities.

Today’s patrols led to the arrest of a man, got off on the wrong foot, on suspicion of two shoplifting offences.

The male was located wearing what appeared to be two stolen shoes… unfortunately for him, they were both right shoes. 👟👟

Officers also recovered a suspected stolen Dolce & Gabbana tester.

It turns out that two rights does make a wrong and trying to smell nice won’t cover up poor decisions.

The male remains in police custody while enquiries continue.

Alongside incidents like this, officers have patrolled hotspot areas, engaged with several ASB nominals and worked with partners to identify further problem-solving opportunities, ensuring Central Milton Keynes remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
