On the run up to Christmas 🎄 we wanted to share to parents who might be thinking of purchasing an e-scooter 🛴

Privately owned e-scooters 🛴🛴🛴
It is illegal to ride a privately owned e-scooter in public places, including:
* Roads
* Pavements/footways
* Cycle lanes
* Parks and other public areas
* A privately owned e-scooter can only be used on private land with the landowner's permission.

Rental trial e-scooters
Government approved rental e-scooters are different. In authorised trial areas:
* They may be ridden on public roads and many cycle lanes.
* They must not be ridden on pavements.
* Users must hold the required driving licence entitlement and be 18 years old or older.
* Third-party insurance is provided by the rental operator.
* Only one person should ride the e-scooter at any time.
* Riders must not use mobile phones whilst riding.

Offences and penalties
* A person riding a privately owned e-scooter illegally in public may face:
* Fixed penalty notices/fines
* Penalty points on their driving licence
* Seizure of the e-scooter under road traffic powers
* Prosecution for more serious offences where appropriate.

Common misconceptions
❌ "It's legal if I'm in a cycle lane."
Still illegal for a privately owned e-scooter.

❌ "It's legal if I'm only on the pavement for a short distance."
Still illegal.

❌ "It's legal because I bought it from a UK retailer."
Sale and ownership are legal; public use is not.

Officers from Milton Keynes Harm Reduction Unit & the local Neighbourhood Policing Team were at Shenley Brook End School today as part of our continued work to tackle knife crime through education and early intervention.

Around 1,000 students passed through a screening arch this morning as a condition of entry to the school.

🚔💊 Back behind bars... and not for the first time 💊🚔

Shortly after being released from prison, Karol Wieczorkowski, 21, was spotted by officers in Milton Keynes, failed to stop for police, ditched his car and tried his luck on foot.

It didn't work. 👮‍♂️

Thanks to information from members of the wonderful Milton Keynes community, officers tracked him down and uncovered more than 400 deal bags of cannabis, around 50 deal bags of Class A drugs, cash, scales and phones linked to drug dealing.

He has now been sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison. ✅

Drug dealing brings harm to our communities, and we'll continue to target those responsible and put them before the courts.

Do you recognise the man in these images? Is it you?

We believe this man may have information to assist our enquiries into a r**e and an attempted r**e in the Conniburrow area. While we appreciate these images are not clear, we are hopeful that if anyone knows the man they may recognise him, or he may recognise himself in the image.

We received a report that between 8.30pm and 9pm on Wednesday 9 September, a woman in her thirties was r**ed by a man on a redway by the pedestrian bridge between Conniburrow and Milton Keynes. We received a second report that on Wednesday 23 September a man attempted to r**e a woman in her fifties shortly before 9.20pm on a redway in Conniburrow. Both women are being supported by officers and we remain in contact with them.

Since these incidents were first reported to us we have been carrying out a range of comprehensive enquiries, including house to house and CCTV scoping in the area. We have also arrested a 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Milton Keynes, on suspicion of r**e and attempted r**e. They have been released from police custody on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

We fully appreciate how concerned the local community may be to hear of these incidents, and want to assure you that detectives have been following every line of enquiry available. Based on the information available to us at the current time, we do not believe these incidents to be linked to any other offences in the area. Officers have been on patrol and will continue to carry out enquiries locally.

We are appealing for information following the r**e of a teenage girl in Broughton.

It was reported to police that between 9.40pm and 10.45pm on Saturday, a 16-year-old girl was approached by a group of three males at Broughton Brook, one of which r**ed her.

The group is described as two black males and one white male, and the man involved is described as black, aged in his late teens/early twenties, had his hair covered and was wearing dark clothing.

We have launched an investigation into this incident and have been carrying out a range of enquiries.

As part of our ongoing investigation we would like to hear from anyone was who in the Broughton Brook area between 9.40pm and 10.45pm on Saturday evening and saw anything suspicious or saw anyone matching the above description.

We appreciate that this incident will be concerning to the local community and want to assure you that we have been following every line of enquiry available. Officers have been on patrol in the area and will continue to carry out enquiries locally. We are in contact with the girl involved and she is being supported by specialist officers.

We are releasing an image of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with a burglary at Tesco Express in Market Place, Olney, at around 5.24am on Friday 28 August 2026.

Offenders used a Smart For Two to reverse through the store's doors before stealing alcohol worth approximately £627.

We are this image as we believe he may have vital information that may assist our investigation.

He was wearing a navy-blue 'Fresh Ego Kid' hoodie, tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Do you recognise these two men?

We're appealing for help to identify two individuals who may have information that could assist an investigation into a robbery outside Xscape, Milton Keynes, at around 7.30pm on 4 April 2026.

During the incident, a teenage boy had his mobile phone stolen and was threatened.

Detective Constable Miles Hooper said: "I believe the two men pictured may have information that could assist this investigation. If you recognise either of them, please get in touch."

🚨 APPEAL

We're appealing for witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision in Giffard Park, Milton Keynes.

At around 10.15am yesterday, a woman in her forties was crossing Brickhill Street when she was struck by a white family-sized vehicle travelling northbound. The vehicle continued onto Wolverton Road and failed to stop.

The woman suffered serious injuries to her ankle and required hospital treatment.

If you witnessed the collision, saw a white vehicle in the area, or have dash-cam or CCTV footage from Brickhill Street or Wolverton Road between 10am and 10.30am, please get in touch.
