We are super excited for the return of this year’s fireworks event on Thursday 5th November.

Our fireworks contractor, Fantastic Fireworks will be returning and they promise to dazzle you with a amazing display and themed music. The main fireworks display is planned for 6:30pm.

There will be a selection of stalls and food vendors available, plus children’s games and rides.

Please note there is no event parking available. There will be a large number of road closures in place to prevent vehicular access close to the event site and access within these closures will be strictly limited. These closures are in place for public safety and to allow emergency access across the area. We encourage everyone wishing to attend to walk to the event or use public transport. Bus services will be running as usual during the road closure period and through road closure points.

Residents who live within the road closures will be required to show proof of their address to have access to and from their home. This can be done by showing documentation such as a driving licence, utility bill or council tax statement, etc. Please make sure that you have your proof of address with you as this will ensure that you will able to gain access though the road closures smoothly.

It’s not always clear what counts as a hate crime. We want to explain it so we can all help keep each other safe.

A hate crime is any crime driven by prejudice or hostility towards a person because of:

Who they are - their race, ethnicity, or nationality
What they believe - their religion or faith
Who they love - their sexual orientation
Their identity - their gender identity
Their abilities - because they have a disability

According to The Crown Prosecution Service, any crime can be treated as a hate crime if the offender has either:

shown hostility based on race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or transgender identity

or

been motivated by hostility toward someone’s race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or transgender identity

A person can be targeted by more than one type of hate crime.

Trust your instincts. If you see or experience something that feels wrong, your voice matters. When you speak up, you are not just reporting an incident. Hate crime has a devastating impact on people, families and communities. Let’s all do our part to keep our neighbourhoods welcoming and safe for everyone.

🚧 Roadworks near Wolverton 🚧

Milton Keynes City Council (MKCC) have authorised the closures of the following highway which will affect access into the parish:

📍 Newport Road, New Bradwell (length joining Stonebridge Roundabout)
🗓️ 19th October – 18th December 2026
⏰ 24 hours each day
⤴ Whilst the above closure is in place the alternative route will be via V6 Grafton Street, H3 Monks Way,Blackhill Drive, V7 Saxon Street and Newport Road (and vice versa)

This road closure is in place to allow Anglian Water contractors to safely work within the carriageway and undertake urgent repairs to the main sewer line.

Parents and Carers can now get support from Citizens Advice Milton Keynes drop in sessions at various Milton Keynes Family Centres supported by Milton Keynes City Council

Sessions will run at each of the centres every 2 weeks are open to parents and families who live in each centre’s catchment area. No appointment necessary, just drop in during the times advertised at each of the centres.

Whether you are living with a stoma, have a urinary diversion, or are awaiting stoma surgery, you're warmly invited to join us at our upcoming Open Meeting.

📢 Update from your Wolverton Ward Councillors 📢

‘Temporary’ Bus Stop - Stratford Rd 🚌

Quick update to let residents know that following some back and forth we’ve now had confirmation that there will be additional and and improved signage and road markings installed at the temporary bus stop location on Stratford Road (this relocated position from Church St will be in situ for the duration of the Agora works).

A bus timetable case has already been installed, and a shelter will also be installed to help protect bus users from the elements. The highways team are also seeking to undertake some kerb alterations at the temporary stops - as they will be there for quite a long time and are well used, and this will help to ensure no issues with accessibility for bus users.

The installation of the shelter requires a permit for the work to be carried out in the street, and the permission request for this is now in the system. We have gone back to ask for a timescale for the permission to be granted and an actual installation date for the shelter - and will let you know as soon as we get an update.
