The condition of the pool liner is deteriorating due to water ingress under the liner. It has made the liner base uneven. It is expected to become more of an issue soon. Given our concerns a difficult decision has been made to limit admissions from Thursday 3 September to adults (over 18s). All disability, general and teatime sessions from Thursday 3 September will be cancelled.

We appreciate this may be a disappointment, but for safety reasons it is unavoidable. We hope that the repairs expected to commence on 28 September will finally resolve the liner issue and that no similar issues occur in the future.

We will monitor the situation and if able to do so will add adult lane sessions and bespoke general sessions for adults on a week by week basis. Class passes will be able to be used for these additional sessions.

Adult lane sessions have been added for 10:30 am and 11:30 am tomorrow (Monday) and Friday.

The 19:30 sessions added for this week through to Sunday (not Tuesday) will be the last for this season.

Due to demand and need the two parking spaces by the entrance walkway have for the summer season both been allocated as disabled parking. A more professional job fixing the signage will be done soon.

We are so sorry to report that in the last few weeks, we lost three lifeguards. First, we lost Walter, then we lost Megan and finally we lost Jai. We searched everywhere for them – note to Murray that he really must be tidier.

Happily, we found Walter working as a physiotherapist in Buckinghamshire, we found Megan working as an occupational therapist in Northampton, and then Jai working in environmental sustainability in Manchester.

We are delighted for each of them. Their new employers and clients are truly very fortunate. We hope that all three of them thoroughly enjoy their new positions and that they visit us often.

On the plus side we continue to be so fortunate to have an excellent team of lifeguards who serve our swimmers and the Lido so well. It has been a very challenging summer so far and our team have gone far beyond what we could reasonably be entitled to expect of them.
