National Crime Agency: Fraud Explained
From fake investment opportunities to convincing impersonation scams, fraudsters are constantly adapting their tactics to target the public. To help people stay one step ahead, the National Crime Agency has launched Fraud Explained, a new video campaign highlighting some of the UK's most prevalent fraud threats and the simple actions people can take to protect themselves.

The campaign will run over the next 10 weeks, releasing videos fortnightly covering Romance Fraud, Phishing, Impersonation Fraud, Investment Fraud and Payment Diversion Fraud.

⚠️ Urban Explorers - Community Safety Warning

During the summer holidays, we become aware of people seeking to explore disused or abandoned buildings.

While some people may be tempted to explore these sites, often referred to as “urban exploring”, these buildings can be extremely dangerous. Many are structurally unsafe, with risks including unstable floors, falling debris, exposed hazards and hidden dangers that can lead to serious injury.

We have recently been involved in investigating a number of incidents where individuals including children entering disused buildings have suffered serious injuries.

Incidents such as this serve as an important reminder that these locations are not safe places to visit.

We would encourage parents, carers and guardians to speak with young people about the dangers of entering abandoned buildings and to help keep them safe.

If you notice anyone accessing a disused property, please report it to the building owner or relevant authorities where appropriate.

No photo is worth risking your safety.

We are sad to share that our Major Crime Unit has launched a murder investigation following a death in Bletchley.

At this early stage, we do not currently believe there is any threat to the wider public as we have made three arrests and we are not currently looking for anyone else. However, members of the public will see an increased police presence in the area while we investigate.

We received a report of a stabbing in Brooklands Road at around 11.20pm yesterday. Officers attended and, despite the best life-saving efforts of emergency workers, a 26-year-old man sadly died at the scene.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends during this time.

The coroner has also been informed, but the victim has not yet been formally identified. Please do not speculate at this time to avoid further distress to his family.

A crime scene is in place on Brooklands Road, which is expected to remain for some time.

Milton Keynes commander Chief Superintendent Emma Baillie said: “Any violence on our streets understandably causes concern in the community, but we are hard at work to determine what happened and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

“We understand there has been a lot of speculation around this incident but we do not believe this murder was racially motivated or there is any threat to the wider public at this time; anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to our officers in the area, at a police station or by calling 101.

“This is a sad day for the city and those affected by this tragic death; we will continue to work with our partners and our communities to reduce serious violence."

This is a complex investigation and we are following several lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances.

Milton Keynes Blue Light and Community Fun Day
Taking place on Thursday 30 July 11.00am - 2.00pm at Conniburrow Community Field, Conniburrow Boulevard, MK14 7DX. Organised by the Council's Community Safety Team in partnership with Great Linford Parish Council and local emergency services, this free event aims to educate and inform residents about the vital work of the emergency services. Attendees will be able to meet the teams that help keep our communities safe, learn how they respond to incidents and support the public, pick up useful safety information, and see the police horses up close.

The event will also feature a variety of information stalls from City Council teams, as well as organisations including SUEZ, The Parks Trust, Dott*, Crimestoppers and other community partners. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to learn essential lifesaving skills through defibrillator awareness sessions with the ‘South Central Ambulance Service’. These interactive sessions will provide practical guidance on how to respond confidently in emergency situations.

With a range of activities, and opportunities to engage with local services, there will be something for all ages to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming residents for an informative, and engaging community event.

It's fair to say that the last year has been one of the most challenging and demanding periods for us. Back in June 2025, the Government announced its intention to dismantle both national and local Healthwatch. That is why we're particularly proud to share the impact of our work in Milton Keynes this year, which includes:

➡️ Exploring improvements to palliative and end-of-life care for people with mental ill health, addiction or trauma.

➡️ Improving experiences for people staying on wards at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

➡️ Exploring how residents from MK's Hong
