Thank you all who stopped by our stall at the Milton-Under-Wychwood village fete on Saturday!

It was a fantastic day with a lot of brilliant stalls, music, and a much-needed breeze. A massive thank you to everyone who generously donated their pre-loved books to our stall, and to our fantastic friends group and volunteers for making our presence at the fete possible!

Thank you to all who stopped by our library stall at the Sustainable Wychwood’s Repair Café on Sunday! Turnout was fantastic and it was lovely to see so many working on their hedgehogs.

This Great Big Green Week, we’re pleased to be supporting Sustainable Wychwoods in encouraging sustainability and promoting climate action in the Wychwoods!

At Wychwood Library, books are given a life beyond their first reading. Book loans, inter-library loans, reservations, as well as promoting partnering e-services like Borrowbox and Libby are all ways in which the library service allows readers to branch out and increase their reading while also reducing their book consumption.

This Summer, Wychwoods branch is pledging to cut all paper usage for books sent out in-transit, while also exclusively using second-hand packaging and envelopes for books in transit also. We also promote sustainable ventures in Oxfordshire including libraries for cloth nappies and maternity clothing, as well as promoting nature protection through library displays.

We are also keen to give books a life beyond their time in the library. This Sunday from 2-4pm, you can find us at Sustainable Wychwoods Repair Café at Milton Village Hall, where you can purchase a range of second-hand books, including books that have graduated from our shelves and ones that have been lovingly donated to us. We will also stock decorations made from second-hand books, and you can also get some inspiration on how to transform your second-hand books into something new.

We will also be accepting at our stall book donations for the Milton Village Fete on Saturday July 11th.
