It is with sadness that we share that the AVOW Community Agent provision will be coming to an end on 31st July 2026.
Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC) has confirmed that funding for the Community Agent Project will end, with de‑commissioning taking place in two phases, supported by WCBC Commissioning. The first phase includes the AVOW delivered service. Our role has been to deliver and support the service on behalf of WCBC, and we are proud of the support that Community Agents have provided to local people and communities.
The current funding for the service will come to an end on 31st July 2026, and the Community Agent provision will therefore close on that date. Until that date, Community Agents will continue to provide support and all usual community groups, drop-ins, appointments and activities will continue as normal.
We would like to thank everyone who has engaged with and supported the service over the years. It has been a privilege to work alongside so many individuals, community groups, volunteers and partner organisations, helping people stay connected, informed and supported within their local communities.
Over the coming weeks, we remain committed to supporting the communities we serve and will work closely with local groups, volunteers and partners to help ensure that existing community groups and activities are as sustainable and self-supporting as possible beyond the life of the project.
As the AVOW Community Agent service will cease on 31st July 2026, pages will also close after that date and will no longer be monitored.
