This month, we’re launching our Rural Passport community safety campaign. 🚒

If you or a loved one lives in a rural or out-of-town location, or you have any concerns about fire safety at home, we’d encourage you to take advantage of our free Home Fire Safety Checks.

During a visit, our team can provide advice to help keep you and your home safe, including guidance on heaters, electrical extensions and other winter fire risks as the weather starts to change.

We’ll also check important information such as the nearest fire hydrant, the type of access to your property and other details that could be important in an emergency.

You can request a free Home Fire Safety Check using the link below:

Thank You for Your Support ❤️🚒

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to the Fire Station over the last few weeks. We have been incredibly busy, and your generosity and support have been greatly appreciated.

At the moment, we have enough donations and don’t require any more. If you would still like to support us, there are a few ways you can:

🟡 We have our yellow clothing banks outside the Fire Station.

👣 One of our crew members is raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity by completing 4,142 steps — the number of steps representing the height of the two Twin Towers — on September 11th.

❤️ You can also donate directly to The Fire Fighters Charity through their website.

We never expect donations, and we will always be here to do our best for our community, all year round — whether it’s wildfires, RTCs, flooding, animal rescues, or anything else you need us for.

Thank you once again for your incredible support. It really does mean a lot to us. 🚒❤️

Diolch am Eich Cefnogaeth ❤️🚒

Hoffem ddiolch yn fawr iawn i bawb sydd wedi rhoi rhoddion i'r Orsaf Dân dros yr wythnosau diwethaf. Rydym wedi bod yn hynod o brysur, ac mae eich haelioni a'ch cefnogaeth wedi cael eu gwerthfawrogi'n fawr.

Ar hyn o bryd, mae gennym ddigon o roddion ac nid oes angen mwy arnom. Os hoffech chi ein cefnogi o hyd, mae yna ychydig o ffyrdd y gallwch chi:

🟡 Mae gennym ein banciau dillad melyn y tu allan i'r Orsaf Dân.

👣 Mae un o aelodau ein criw yn codi a***n ar gyfer Elusen y Diffoddwyr Tân trwy gwblhau 4,142 o risiau — nifer y grisiau sy'n cynrychioli uchder y ddau Dŵr Gefell — ar Fedi'r 11eg.

❤️ Gallwch hefyd gyfrannu'n uniongyrchol at Elusen y Diffoddwyr Tân trwy eu gwefan.

Nid ydym byth yn disgwyl rhoddion, a byddwn bob amser yma i wneud ein gorau dros ein cymuned, drwy gydol y flwyddyn — boed yn danau gwyllt, gwrthdrawiadau traffig ffordd, llifogydd, achub anifeiliaid, neu unrhyw beth arall y mae angen i chi ein hachub ar ei gyfer.

Diolch unwaith eto am eich cefnogaeth anhygoel. Mae wir yn golygu llawer i ni. 🚒❤️

🚨Major incident update:

The military support for our response to wildfires across South Wales has now officially been stood down.

As our work on this major incident continues, we'd like to extend our sincere thanks to all teams from the British Army, who worked alongside our crews and partners during an exceptionally demanding period.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) Adam Openshaw said “During this Major Incident, our Firefighters, Officers, Control Operators and Corporate staff have been working tirelessly, with the utmost professionalism, to protect the people of South Wales from harm. At the height of our response, it became necessary to seek additional support from the British Army, as the number of significant and concurrent wildfires being faced placed extreme pressure on our resources. On behalf of South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, I wish to thank the British Army for their invaluable assistance and support over the past few days. They have worked incredibly well alongside our crews, demonstrating real teamwork, to offer further resilience at a time when we needed it the most, and we are grateful for the support. Whilst military assistance has now come to an end, our dedicated crews and staff, remain committed to this live major incident, and I am proud of the courage and resilience of everybody involved.”

This joint effort shines a light on the vital role partnership plays in emergency response - the support from Army teams was invaluable in helping us sustain operations across multiple incidents to protect life, property and the environment.

From transporting large quantities of firefighting water to cutting crucial firebreaks, their professionalism, dedication and teamwork played an important role in supporting our response and helping protect communities across South Wales.

From everyone at South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, thank you for your support and partnership.

🚒 Your crews have been called out 42 times this month, sometimes for much longer than usual due to the Major Incident in the service.

That means that, with 11 days of August still to go, we’ve already surpassed our busiest month of the year so far. 😮

And looking at the bigger picture, we’re now less than 100 incidents away from our busiest year in the last five years.

Behind every call-out are people giving up their time, this month crew have stepped up for extra hours despite the fatigue, to help keep our service area safe.

💙 We would like to thank the families of all the crew at your Fire Station for accepting the missing mealtimes, bedtimes, chores, and so much more.

August isn’t over yet. Stay safe, and please remember that when you see our crews responding, they’re doing everything they can to keep our communities safe. 🚒

🚒 Could you be an On-Call Firefighter?

With the ongoing wildfire challenges across South Wales, the commitment and availability of our firefighters has never been more important.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service is looking for people in local communities who could make a real difference by becoming an On-Call Firefighter.

On-call firefighters have a regular job or other commitments, but when their pager sounds, they respond to their local fire station and join their colleagues in protecting people, property and communities.

🔥 You don’t have to be a full-time firefighter to make a full-time difference.

If you live or work close to an On-Call fire station and are looking for a rewarding role where you can help your community, why not find out more?

👉 Become an On-Call Firefighter:

https://www.southwales-fire.gov.uk/working-with-us/firefighter-role/on-call-firefighters/

Your community needs you. Could you answer the call? 🚒

We're recruiting On-Call Firefighters across South Wales.

We are sorry to not be able to attend Monmouth Show today as planned.
Your crew is currently in Cwm, Ebbw Vale supporting with one of the 14 ongoing Wild Fire incidents.
It has been an incredibly busy time for the station and the service.
Thank you for your understanding

Mae'n ddrwg gennym na allwn fod yn bresennol yn Sioe Trefynwy heddiw fel y trefnwyd.
Mae eich criw ar hyn o bryd yn Cwm, Glynebwy, yn cynorthwyo gydag un o'r 14 digwyddiad tân gwyllt sy'n mynd rhagddynt ar hyn o bryd.
Mae wedi bod yn gyfnod hynod brysur i'r orsaf ac i'r gwasanaeth.
Diolch i chi am eich dealltwriaeth.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated water, snacks and anything else to the service during recent incidents.
We have been really lucky to receive donations from Ludus Gym members and Tri Wall.
We intend to share this out amongst as many crews as possible as we are out to help pick up energy and spirits.
It is never expected and hugely appreciated.
Thank you all

Diolch enfawr i bawb sydd wedi rhoi dŵr, byrbrydau ac unrhyw beth arall i'r gwasanaeth yn ystod digwyddiadau diweddar.
Rydym wedi bod yn ffodus iawn o dderbyn rhoddion gan aelodau Ludus Gym a Tri Wall.
Ein bwriad yw rhannu'r rhain ymhlith cynifer o griwiau â phosibl wrth i ni fynd allan i helpu i roi hwb i egni ac ysbryd pobl.
Ni ddisgwylir hyn byth, ac mae'n cael ei werthfawrogi'n fawr.
Diolch i chi oll.

🚒 Could you be the next member of the Monmouth Fire Station crew? 🚒

It’s been a busy year so far at Monmouth Fire Station, and there’s never been a better time to think about joining the team!

We’re looking for enthusiastic, community-minded people to become On-Call Firefighters with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. No previous experience is needed – just commitment, teamwork, and a willingness to make a difference when your community needs you most.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be part of the fire service, why not come along and see for yourself?

📍 We drill every Tuesday evening
🕡 18:30 – 20:30
📍 Monmouth Fire Station

Whether you’re interested yourself or know someone who might be, we’d love to meet you, answer your questions, and show you what being part of the crew is all about.

Come along, have a chat, and take the first step towards an exciting and rewarding role in your local community.

🚒 A allech chi fod yn aelod nesaf o griw Gorsaf Dân Trefynwy? 🚒

Mae hi wedi bod yn flwyddyn brysur hyd yma yng Ngorsaf Dân Trefynwy, ac nid oes amser gwell i ystyried ymuno â'r tîm!

Rydym yn chwilio am bobl frwdfrydig sy'n ymroi i'w cymuned i ddod yn Ddiffoddwyr Tân 'Ar Alwad' gyda Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub De Cymru. Nid oes angen unrhyw brofiad blaenorol – dim ond ymroddiad, gallu gweithio fel rhan o dîm, ac awydd gwneud gwahaniaeth pan fydd eich cymuned yn eich angen fwyaf.

Os ydych chi erioed wedi meddwl sut beth yw bod yn rhan o'r gwasanaeth tân, pam na wnewch chi ddod draw i weld drosoch eich hun?

📍 Rydym yn cynnal sesiynau hyfforddi bob nos Fawrth
🕡 18:30 – 20:30
📍 Gorsaf Dân Trefynwy

P'un a oes gennych ddiddordeb eich hun neu os ydych chi'n adnabod rhywun a allai fod â diddordeb, byddem wrth ein bodd yn cwrdd â chi, yn ateb eich cwestiynau, ac yn dangos i chi beth mae bod yn rhan o'r criw yn ei olygu.

Dewch draw, cael sgwrs, a chymryd y cam cyntaf tuag at rôl gyffrous a gwerth chweil yn eich cymuned leol.
