Montgomery Fire Station

Montgomery Fire Station We are the On-Call Fire & Rescue crew covering Montgomery Powys and the surrounding areas. Part of Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service.

Like most we are entirely "On Call" station. That means every one of the crew has a "day job", either works, lives or both within 6 mins of the station, and are summoned when required by radio pager. Underneath our kits we hold down normal everyday jobs from Gardeners and Blacksmiths, Hotel workers, Train driving instructors and Microbiologist’s, Tool makers, Stair makers and log cabin builders. B

ut we are all trained and equipped to the same standards as our Whole time colleagues and respond to the same incidents.

04/07/26 15:27 whilst the crew of 03P1 were at Montgomery Street Fair they were mobilised to an RTC roll over near Goetre, Abermule. All occupants out on arrival, crews monitored vehicle battery until recovery arrived.

25/06/26 12:51 03P1 was mobilised to a gas leak at a factory in Welshpool. A Gas engineer was already on scene, leak identified and tank isolated. Gas readings then all within safe limits, no action taken by FRS.

23/06/26 12:24 on returning from the previous incident 03P1 was then mobilised to a special service call along with Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust to a property near Montgomery.

23/06/26 10:56 03P1 mobilised to a fire industrial/commercial along with Welshpool Fire Station/Gorsaf Dân Y Trallwng at a site near Middletown. 2 BA and 1 HRJ used to extinguish. Environmental pack used to contain fuel/oil spill.

20/06/26 14:50 03P1 mobilised to a water rescue near Criggion along with Welshpool Fire Station/Gorsaf Dân Y Trallwng and Llanfair Caereinion Fire Station. Approximately 30 sheep had entered the River Severn. Animal rescue crews were then called in from Gorsaf Dân ac Achub Machynlleth / Machynlleth Fire & Rescue Station and Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

20/06/26 11:29 03P1 was mobilised to a special service call along with Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust at a property in Churchstoke. 03P1 and the crew were requested so that one patient could be carried out of the property down an awkward staircase

15/06/26 20:00 03P1 mobilised along with Welshpool Fire Station/Gorsaf Dân Y Trallwng to a suspected gas leak at a store in Welshpool. Crews carried out investigations and were unable to locate any issue. The incident was left with the store manager to await the arrival of the alarm engineer

This evening on drill we welcomed Paula and Sian from MAWWFRS new Mental Health and Wellbeing Team.
We were nominated to undertake the to raise awareness for PTSD by our neighbours Welshpool Fire Station/Gorsaf Dân Y Trallwng
