Montgomery Fire Station

Montgomery Fire Station We are the On-Call Fire & Rescue crew covering Montgomery Powys and the surrounding areas. Part of Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service.

Like most we are entirely "On Call" station. That means every one of the crew has a "day job", either works, lives or both within 6 mins of the station, and are summoned when required by radio pager. Underneath our kits we hold down normal everyday jobs from Gardeners and Blacksmiths, Hotel workers, Train driving instructors and Microbiologist’s, Tool makers, Stair makers and log cabin builders. B

ut we are all trained and equipped to the same standards as our Whole time colleagues and respond to the same incidents.

07/04/26 14:40 03P1 was mobilised along with Newtown Fire Station/ Gorsaf dân Y Drenewydd to assist a Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust crew at an address in Newtown. Just before arrival, 03P1 was stood down.

07/04/26 08:05 03P1 was mobilised to standby duties at Newtown Fire Station/ Gorsaf dân Y Drenewydd. After a short while there, the crew was stood down.

06/04/26 14:08 03P1 mobilised along with Newtown Fire Station/ Gorsaf dân Y Drenewydd to domestic alarms sounding at an address in Newtown. Crews arrived and confirmed a false activation.

04/04/26 whilst on standby at Welshpool 03P1 was mobilised to a property fire, persons reported at a property in Four Crosses along with numerous other appliances. 03P1 was first on scence, finding the occupants out on arrival. The occupants believed the fire to be extinguished.
Crews used 2x BA, 1x HRJ and a TIC to investigate and confirm.

04/04/26 12:00 03P1 was mobilised to Welshpool standby.

At 12:01 03P1 was redirected to an RTC at Trewern. On route they were stood down from this incident and directed back to Welshpool standby.

03/04/26 18:08 03P1 mobilised to a hedge fire involving an oil tank.
Hedge and oil tank were well alight on arrival close to a number of properties.
2x BA, 1x HRJ, 1x 45mm main jet and TIC used to extinguish.
Environmental grab bag also used.

03/04/26 12:59 03P1 and a crew from Llanfair Caereinion Fire Station were mobilised to a single vehicle RTC persons trapped near Berriew. Crews assisted in casualty care and the transportation of the casualty to the road Ambulance due to difficult access.

01/04/26 10:27 03P1 was mobilised to an agricultural vehicle fire at a farm near Montgomery.
Assistance message sent to make pumps 2 for water.
2x BA and one extended HRJ and TIC utilised to extinguish.

Tonight was FF Bailey last drill night, with him finally hanging up his helmet next Tuesday evening after an incredible 27 years of service with Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub CGC / MAWW Fire and Rescue
We all wish him well, and thank him for his dedication to the service, the station and the surrounding communities.

22/03/26 14:09 03P1 was mobilised to assist the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust with a special service call at a property in Churchstoke. The crew assisted the paramedics on scene with the transfer of the patient from the property to the road Ambulance.

16/03/26 19:38 03P1 mobilised to standby duties at Newtown Fire Station/ Gorsaf dân Y Drenewydd. Approximately 23:30 the crew were stood down.
