Because hidden away right here in oor ain toon is a remarkable slice of history that helped shape aviation, wartime Britain and generations of stories still waiting tae be discovered. From daring pilots and incredible aircraft tae fascinating artefacts and local memories… this place really is one of those “how did ah no come here sooner?” gems 🛩️📚

So whether ye’re a full blown , a history buff, looking for somewhere different tae take the bairns, or simply fancy a wander down memory lane — why no pop in this weekend and support the brilliant volunteers helping preserve Montrose’s incredible heritage for future generations 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Sometimes in life ye really just huv tae roll up they sleeves and get stuck right in 🪏🪴🌺

It’s brilliant seeing the gardens coming along nicely, with homegrown
veg coming along nicely with some beautiful plants already in the ground. 🪏🪴🌾

Good weather, Great company & followed by some Groovy music at The Adam Centre, with the bold on the 🎸 plus special guest Foxy the dug hoovering up all the attention 🐶🥰

🎸🌅 Here we go Montrose… MOFEST2026 officially kicks off TOMORROW and ye can already feel the buzz building around the toon 🚀🎶 From cafés and pubs tae hotels and hidden gems, live music will be pouring out across Montrose all weekend long.

Montrose Music Fest x.

👏 Massive credit to all the brilliant local venues opening their doors and supporting the festival spirit this year — especially the new faces joining the MoFest family for the very first time. That’s what makes this festival special… community, music, friendship and folk supporting local folk 💙🏴

🌊 Have ye ever just stood at the edge of the sea and completely lost yersel in thought… pondering life, reminiscing about days gone by, and feeling tiny standing on ’s front doorstep? 💭🌅

Right here on VisitScotland’s glorious with and beautiful, we definitely get oor fair share of pure weather 🌧️😂

And let me tell ye… the around Montrose is absolutely 🥶🌊

So massive respect to the legendary and all the brave souls who willingly launch themselves into that icy madness 👏🐻‍❄️ Apparently it’s amazing for body, mind & soul… though ah’ll happily take their word for it from a safe distance with
(my faulty ❤️‍🩹), & a hot roll in ma hand 😄☕

(Seriously though folks — if trying cold water swimming, always go with experienced supervised groups and stay safe ❤️)

Anyhoo… after all that heroic freezing, there’s every chance it was back tae somewhere cosy like The Limes Guesthouse for one of the finest brekkys in DD10 🍳🥓☕

Sometimes the simple moments really are the best.

Montrose, 1973 🌅

My late Dad, just 29 years old here, standing proudly at South Links Caravan Park with my big sister Lynn in his arms and my older brother William sitting proudly in the pram. Little did they know… baby Bob was already waiting in the wings not long after this photo was taken

I lost Dad in 2021, not long after my own
heart failure diagnosis the previous
September. Truth be told, losing him was
one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced.
He wasn’t just my Dad… he was my best pal.

Finding this wee photograph tucked away yesterday amongst some old family belongings honestly stopped me in my tracks. One frozen moment in time. A young father with his whole world in his hands and all of life still ahead of him.

So I thought this special memory deserved to be brought back to life in the warm colours and tones of the early 70s 📸✨

And somehow, looking at this picture now, ye realise the greatest treasures in life were never riches or fame… but the ordinary moments, the people beside us, and the love that quietly held families together through generations.
