🌊💦 The Seafront Splash – A Wee Bit of Montrose Magic 💦🌊

Long before it became known as the Seafront Splash, Montrose Beach was already one of
the town's favourite meeting places. For generations, families & holiday goers have strolled along the seafront, enjoyed a cheeky wee ice cream, watched the waves rolling in from the North Sea and simply soaked up the fresh sea air. 🚶‍♀️🍦🌊

The area around today's Splash Park has seen many changes over the years. The nearby Beach Café became a popular stop for a cuppa, an ice cream or a warm roll after a blustery walk along the sands. ☕🍰

And now the Traill Pavilion and Seafront Splash continue that proud tradition of making the promenade a destination for all ages. The splash park has become a favourite with families. I suppose more so when the sun is shining, which is something we ae longing for💦👶🏖️

Perhaps that's what makes the Seafront Splash so special. It's not just a play area. It's another chapter in Montrose's long love affair with its seafront — a place where memories are made, friendships are formed and generations of families continue to enjoy one of Scotland's finest beaches. ❤️

So whether you're building sandcastles, grabbing an ice cream, taking in the sea air or watching the bairns have the time of their lives in the fountains, the Seafront Splash is yet another reason to fall in love with Montrose all over again. 🌅

It's rather fitting that one of Montrose's most cherished historic buildings — a place where so many local stories first began — could once again become a place of new beginnings. 💡✨

The former Montrose Infirmary has cared for generations of families over the years, and now an exciting vision could see it transformed into a stunning hotel, spa, events and conference destination right here in the heart of our town. 🏨🧖‍♀️🍽️

Just imagine... visitors arriving from across Scotland and beyond, discovering everything that makes Montrose so special. From our beautiful beaches and golf links to our thriving port, rich history and warm community spirit, this could be another fantastic reason to and . 🌊⛳🏰

Projects like this don't happen by accident. They begin with people who care deeply about their town and are willing to dream big. 👏

Your passion, vision and commitment to Montrose does not go unnoticed. ❤️

🏛️ 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆: 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 & 𝗦𝗽𝗮 🏨

Over the past few months, ProMo has been exploring ambitious plans to transform the former Montrose Infirmary into Castlehill Hotel & Spa – a boutique hotel, thermal spa and conference destination in the heart of our town.

The concept includes:
✨ 40 hotel bedrooms
🧖 Thermal spa & swimming pool
💆 Treatment rooms & gym
🍽️ Destination restaurant & bar
🎉 Wedding & event venue
💼 Conference facilities

The project could help meet growing demand from Montrose Port, the offshore wind sector and visitors to the area, while bringing an important historic building back into productive use and creating 40+ local jobs.

A huge thank you to the teams at Crawford Architecture and CHAP Group , who have generously donated their time and expertise to develop the concept, designs, feasibility work and business plan completely free of charge to help us build momentum and explore whether this exciting project can become a reality.

This is still at an early stage, but we believe the former infirmary presents a unique opportunity to create something special for Montrose's future. As the concept develops, we would welcome conversations with potential investors, developers and hotel operators who share our vision for creating a landmark destination for Montrose.
