🥳 Come and celebrate Morden Tube station’s 100th birthday with a exciting line-up of activities! 🎂

🎵 Don't miss live music and poetry in the ticket hall, an exhibition of artworks and heritage photography inspired by the local area and the magic of the Underground, and a chance to hear reflections from former station staff.

Nearby, Morden Library will also be holding children’s activities to mark the day's celebrations.

🙌 Designed by renowned architect Charles Holden, Morden Tube station is one of seven Underground stations which opened in 1926 as part of the Northern Line extension, and remains an iconic feature in the town centre.

🚮 New wheelie bins are landing in Lower Morden and Graveney.

Lids on, litter down, recycling made easier.

This pilot will help us see how the bins work, and how w could wheel them out to the whole borough.

One week on and we're still buzzing over this year's GCSE results. 🌟
Students from across Merton celebrated as they received their results and we were out in Raynes Park High School to join in on the day. 🥳
Well done to everyone and we hope you're getting ready for next year!

London Fire Brigade are currently responding to a large fire in the Mitcham Junction area.

Please avoid the Carshalton Road area. Trains are suspended between Mitcham Junction and Hackbridge.

At this time no casualties have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

As families prepare for the new school year, we're helping make the return to school a little easier. 💙

We are one of three councils working with Donate to Educate, to distribute free school uniforms to families whose children are eligible for free school meals.

🚲 Get your bike marked for free!

The Safer Merton team is offering free bike marking to help protect your bike from theft and make it easier to identify if it’s stolen.

📅 Tuesday 25 August, 10am to 11.30am
📍 Outside Merton Civic Centre

The team will register your bike with BikeRegister and give it a unique identification number.
It only takes a few minutes and could help police identify and recover your bike if it’s stolen. Just turn up with your bike!
