Moretonhampstead Swimming Pool Moretonhampstead Community Swimming Pool is a 25m outdoor pool heated by renewable energy on Dartmoor, Devon. The 2024 season starts on 25th May.

Full timetable on our website. Moretonhampstead Swimming Pool, on the edge of Dartmoor, is open from May through to September and is run by volunteers. Our fabulous 25m outdoor pool is heated by air source heat pumps and solar power, so you can swim comfortably even when the sun is hiding behind the clouds. The pool offers a grassed social area, hot and cold refreshments, and a timetable that offe

rs a daily general swim for all, lane swimming, aqua fit sessions, swimming lessons, technique coaching, and water polo. Each season we try to introduce new opportunities for improving fitness and confidence in the water for all ages. The pool is also available for hire.

Currently forecast to be a beautiful day and a clear evening, but whatever happens come along and enjoy a night swim, and sit out by the pool post-swim with cake and hot drinks.

The weather is improving towards the end of the week - currently showing 22° on Saturday with the blue skies and sunshine, and even warmer on Sunday. Brighter days ahead but we are still open no matter what the weather throws at us in the meantime! Enjoy a swim in lovely, clear warm water, with a post-swim hot chocolate this week.

A wet start to the week at Moreton Pool with Dartmoor offering up another of its finest downpours! Thank you to Debbie, Clare, Simon, Karen, Malcolm & John - regular lane swimmers - for making it. And to our Lifeguard Ruby because it was cold as well as wet sitting out by the pool this morning. Temperatures rising this week - pool temp currently at a comfortable 27 degrees. Nice

At Moretonhampstead Health Centre, we run a minor injuries service from the surgery which is open during normal working hours for injuries sustained within the last 3 days.

What our Minor Injuries Service can treat (within the last 3 days):
• Any new injury (cuts / fall injuries) • Sprains and strains •
• Minor burns and scalds • • Minor head injuries •
• Animal bites (and reactions to) • Minor eye injuries •

If you are unsure, give the surgery a call on 01647 440 591 and we will be able to provide the best advice.

For immediate, life-threatening emergencies, we ask you continue to call 999 or attend an accident and emergency department.

For the Home Ed community, we have a session especially for you this season. Tuesdays 12-2pm. It’s a smaller session of 30 swimmers with floats & toys, the tuck shop will be open for teas & coffees so we hope you’ll come along for a swim! Book online moretonpool.co.uk

First week of the season has been busy! We started with sunshine and blue skies, it continued all week - and today is another stunner.
