After a short introduction about Nordic walking from the team at Strolls with Poles, youโ€™ll set off on a 2 mile walk in the grounds of Wallington. ยฃ20 per session.

Hire a bike and enjoy the fresh Northumbrian air with a spin around the dragon cycle trails โ€“ thereโ€™s two family friendly routes to choose from (1.5km and 4.5km long). Adult sized bikes cost ยฃ14, child sized bikes are ยฃ9 and electric bikes at ยฃ22 for a two hour hire. Trailers, trikes and recumbent trikes are also available.

Itโ€™s that time of year again when people are starting to head off on holidays all around the world or enjoy a summer break close by โ›ฑ๏ธ

One person in Wallington's history who loved to travel was Caroline Philips, Lady Trevelyan, wife of Sir George Otto Trevelyan. Caroline was a talented watercolour artist, and produced many pieces here at Wallington and on her travels.

This monthโ€™s Treasure Tuesday is our collection of Carolineโ€™s work, including these pieces from the 1860s and 1870s, produced on trips to Italy and Scotland.

To see more of Carolineโ€™s work, and to learn more about her and the other fascinating women who have lived and worked here, make sure to check out our Women of Wallington tours. The next tour date is Friday 26 June, 3.30pm-4.30pm. ยฃ5 per person.

๐ŸŒฒPine Marten Discovery Trail guided walks - Tuesday 9 June, 11am and 2pm๐ŸŒฒ

Join a free guided walk from Vincent Wildlife Trust to discover more about the elegant and elusive pine marten.

This gentle 1.5 mile walk through West Wood will be lead by Martens on the Move Project Officer, Victoria Chanin and will introduce you to the species. Youโ€™ll discover more about the habitats these fascinating animals rely on and learn why pine martens play such an important role in a healthy, biodiverse woodland.
The walks are part of Great Big Green Week at Wallington.

A massive thank you to everyone who has already come along to a Wednesday Crafternoon and helped us start to get ready for Christmas 2026 (yes, already!) โœจ

This year, each room will be decorated with handmade creations, celebrating a range of materials and craft styles inspired by Wallingtonโ€™s heritage. And we need your help!

Crafternoons are happening every Wednesday, 12noon to 3pm until Wednesday 15 July. Whether youโ€™re an experienced maker or just fancy trying something new, weโ€™d love you to join us and be part of something special this Christmas๐ŸŽ„
