Our latest video highlights an Innovating in Trusted Spaces session at Hexham Library, delivered in partnership with LibrariesConnected where people came together to build confidence, ask questions and discover more about AI in a relaxed, supportive environment.

This is just one part of the project – an accompanying exhibition will be touring libraries across Northumberland throughout the year, giving more people the chance to explore these themes in their own communities. You can currently find it at Haltwhistle Library

📚🥕 STORIES FROM OUR PATCH 🥕📚

60 library services from 20+ countries came together in Amsterdam last week to celebrate their place at the heart of Europe's communities - and Northumberland Libraries were proud to be a part of it all in the shape of Hexham Library and Grow Hexham's Stories From Our Patch project.

Librarians, community organisers, policy makers and funders met at OBA Oosterdok ready to swap ideas, share inspiration and support each other in addressing how libraries continue to show up in their communities, ensuring free-to-access, safe democratic spaces for all.

Stories From Our Patch is about sharing stories, our own stories, and how doing so helps us all to learn, create and grow together, thanks to funding from The European Foundation and the incredible opportunities created by being part of The Europe Challenge.

⚠️Library Opening Changes – Week Beginning 8 June⚠️
To support the next stage of the Library Service Review, some temporary changes to opening hours will apply for the week beginning 8 June only.

Tuesday 9 June
Hexham Library will open at 11am
Prudhoe Library will open at 11:30am. Self-service available from 9am
Haltwhistle Library will open at 1:30pm
Blyth Library will close at 3pm
South Beach Library will be closed

Wednesday 10 June
Berwick Library will be staffed from 11am. Self-service available from 9am
Wooler Library will open at 12 noon

Thursday 11 June
Cramlington Library will be staffed from 11am. Self-service available from 9am
Bedlington and Lynemouth Libraries will be closed
Ashington Library (first floor) will close at 2:30pm

Friday 12 June
Morpeth Library will not be staffed from 3pm onwards. Self-service available.
Amble Library will close at 1pm
Rothbury Library will close at 1pm

Please note when self service is avilable public pcs and printing will be unavailable

Last week Prudhoe library staff visited The Manors in Prudhoe for an outreach event, connecting with residents aged 50+.

Through conversations, sharing resources, and promoting the library service, the team highlighted how libraries bring reading, support and opportunities directly into the community
