Here’s an opportunity for local organisations to gain grant funding for young people looking into local history and learning life skills whilst producing results through funded projects.
Closing date 10 August 2026
Do you know your history?
Groups working with young people in Northumberland can now apply for a grant from Historic England.
The History in the Making grant programme awards up to £15,000 to help young people discover and connect with heritage in their community.
Participants are invited to mark history that matters to them in the place they live. Previous projects have included murals, podcasts, walking tours and artwork, with 95 per cent of young people taking part gaining new skills.
Organisations can apply for up to £15,000 for projects running up to 18 months, before August 10th. To be eligible they must work with young people aged 13 to 25 living in Northumberland. Historic England’s Young Advisers will help award the funding.
