Sailing Barge Juno

JUNO has remained in the ownership of Charlie and Helen Ward since she was built, sailing almost 20,000 miles, both privately and also as a commercial vessel offering day charters along the North Norfolk coast. Her longer private voyages include a 1,200 mile round trip to Falmouth in Cornwall.

So many celebrations have taken place on JUNO.

Weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, reunions and times when friends and family have got together and remembered loved ones.

JUNO is ideal for chartering, for sailing adventures, inland river exploring or at anchor for a celebration lunch or sunset drinks event.

Many of our interested buyers want to continue chartering JUNO and welcoming people on board. We would love that- we hope to be a guest many more times too!

Every winter since she was built, JUNO is comprehensively serviced as required, working to a rolling schedule of work depending upon condition of paint and varnish work as well as all fixed and loose equipment.

Charlie would be pleased to provide a new owner with any advice which may be required regarding the maintenance and sailing of the vessel. He can also recommend a local (North Norfolk) boatyard (the owner of which was part of the team who built Juno in Charlie Ward’s boatyard) who could offer winter maintenance services as required.

This weekend Juno went out for her first sail of the season. Here she is captured returning to her mooring in Blakeney harbour. Amazing to see hew out after her full winter of maintenance work- she's looking stunning.

It was Charlie's dream...

Bookshelves packed full of barge books, years of experience creating the 'Norfolk' range of small yachts and day boats, including the Norfolk Urchin, Norfolk Oyster, Norfolk Gypsy and Norfolk Smuggler, Charlie decided to build his dream boat- his own version of the iconic Thames Barge.

JUNO is such an iconic vessel and we know a huge amount of our followers have had the honour of sailing her, marvelling at her beauty as she has sat on her mooring in Blakeney Harbour or chatted to Charlie as he has spent the winter months lovingly maintaining her each year.
